Favorite Starting Games
We've done this before with ending games (and we can't really do it with all the main games!), so let's hear everyone's favorite starting game! If you want, feel free to provide an explanation or simply vote. I've allowed a maximum of three votes per person so we can obtain a bit more data, but you can specify ordering of favorites in your post of course. Also, you can mention your favorite versions of games (Match Maker in the ocean, Roulette with the vertical wheel, etc.) for a more robust conversation.
My #1 is The Fortress as it just felt so fun. I think part of it is the novelty of the game and also the effort that went into setting it up. Of course, those two justifications aren't independent of one another. I've always found it interesting that they brought back Fortress for the last regular episode - suppose they wanted to go out with a bang and something a bit different.
My #2 is Flag Down, another rarity. I didn't appreciate it as much at the time, but it's pretty creative for a starter. Again, I think it took a lot of effort and resources to do it, so that's probably why it was only featured once, but it was fun. Seems like it would eliminate more contestants right off the bat as it's essentially a 50/50 chance of the contestants losing it, but that episode had a winner actually, so maybe not
My #3 would have to be Match Maker. It's a bit less overdone than the other popular starters and it allowed for some funny moments. Plus, playing it in the snow and the fun ocean version make it stand out more than others.
I think Sand Flee is also typically a starting game, so you can post a vote for that too. I ran out of space in the poll options and it seems the least like a starting game to me, so I nicked it from our list.
I think it helps games a lot to not be used so much and some of them had the misfortune of being overused. Slippery Wall in particular is so stale for me just because every remake ever builds it!

Re: Favorite Starting Games
I like the fortress and the great wall just add much as stock pot racing, which I voted for. I didn't realise that you could do the. Could you erase my vote so I can devote, to do three?

Re: Favorite Starting Games
Unfortunately I can't without starting this thread from scratch as the polls on here are very cumbersome. I actually had to do a take 2 on this thread because the first time I forgot to tick the box to allow three votes per user
But still, the reply is the important part. We'll take a mental note that there should be one more vote for The Great Wall and Fortress

Re: Favorite Starting Games
I voted for Bite the Bun, Foot Loose, and Knock Knock II. I think these are all fun and creative in their own ways, especially Foot Loose, which is only used once, but I just wanted to give it a vote for my appreciation towards it. I would've voted the Great Wall but I wanted to show some love to one that may be overlooked moreso because it was only used once, but the idea of using many different types of footwear was just fun to watch and a really creative idea that would've been cool to see once or twice more.

Re: Favorite Starting Games
I wouldn't really count the last seven games you listed as starting ones, according to the Keshi Heads website.
But other than that, here are my top three favourite starting games of Takeshi's Castle:
1. The Great Wall - This is hands down my favourite one, #17 to be exact because this starting game was more classic and played the most out of all other beginner games, even if it was boring as hell to watch and I personally like this version more than the Slippery Wall because it's less dirty and way more easier for me to get over, as I'm a tall guy and I believe that with a huge jump, I could grab the top in just one or two shots no problem. This game is also mostly fun to watch in it's latest appearances with that cool 633 Squadron BGM playing. Too bad that The Great Wall only ever returned to 4/13 episodes in Saudi Arabia though.
2. Match Maker - Being #23 overall, I liked the creativity of hundreds of different shapes that Takeshi came up with and like Slip Way, is a luck based game which makes it fair for all the contestants. I also quite liked the addition of a children's playground used in the beach special, that way it presented more footage of this game than all other regular episodes.
3. Slippery Wall - I was forced to choose this game as my third favourite over Bite the Bun just because of how this game was usually revived in every present version of this show (save for Russia), but was overly played in Indonesia. I did quite like the added variations though of pouring different liquids on the wall in Thailand and Vietnam, so it's not obviously that boring to watch. Ranked #27, I even like this game more than Rice Bowl.
If we even do get new episodes in Saudi Arabia at some point, I think we will see Knock Knock II, Foot Loose and unfortunately Muddy Waters which is my least favourite starting game cause of how filthy and ordinary it is.

Re: Favorite Starting Games
Lots of different choices from each person. Glad I made this thread.
F2 Kubik, they're listed in the special episode categories rather than the starting game categories simply because the special sections are more barren. The special ones listed could just as well be classified as starting games (played at the beginning of the episode, everyone goes together).
Also, you must have an in-depth list of favorites if you have a defined #27 game! Now I'm curious

Re: Favorite Starting Games
I had made a #1_#110 list but lost it. When I make again I will post here.

Re: Favorite Starting Games
Yeah "Your Own Top Ten Games" would be an interesting thread. Sounds like something we've done about ten times before, but I can't specifically recall it, and it'd be fun anyway!
