posticon COMP: Castle Hunt II

Hi guys, it's time to play the game you don't know and don't love: Castle Hunt!

Introduced four years ago, this game simulates (sorta) an experience of competing on Takeshi's Castle. You will play through an episode consisting of ten games. You will have three "lives" on this episode. This means you are allowed to "fail" two of our games without being eliminated. However, you must beat Final Fall and the Show Down no matter how many lives you have. Anytime you fail these, your game will end. emoticon

You will choose one of three "paths" to compete on, each one consisting of a different group of games. Now, you do not know how these games will be conducted or scored, but you do get a taste of the game lineup before choosing your course at least emoticon

Plus, I'll link to the old game to give you an idea of how it went:

Old Castle Hunt

This time, scoreboard points are involved! 50 points if you win your show, 25 if you fail at the Show Down and 10 if you fail at Final Fall.

I will post your paths shortly...

You only need yourself for Paths A and B. If you want to do Path C, you just need one partner. Your choice!

Re: COMP: Castle Hunt II

You guys made it easy for me all choosing the same path. Although you did choose the most complex path emoticon

Here are the rules for each game, then we will get to Match Maker (as soon as I can create the image!).

Match Maker: You will be shown a picture of an empty cut-out and three potential shapes. Only one of the three shapes will fit in the cut-out perfectly. You must choose the correct one to win the game.

Tug of War: You'll choose a rope (1-5) and I'll reveal who you're up against. I'll roll two dice to see if you get a winning number. Here's the opponent list:

Cow: Only 12 wins
Three Black-Hearted Guards: 9-12 wins
Boxing Monster: 6-12 wins
Yousichi: 5-12 wins
Schoolkids: 3-12 wins

Skipping Stones: There are three rows of eight stones, laid out like this:

  ABCDEFGH

1 OOOOOOOO
2 OOOOOOOO
3 OOOOOOOO

You must choose eight stones, starting at A and ending at H. You choose the numbers, but the stones must be adjacent to one another (no going straight from row 1 to 3!). I will explain in-depth when we get there.

Honeycomb Maze: The Maze has 12 rooms and two guards (each hiding in one randomly-selected room). You will be shown a picture of the Maze with the rooms numbered, and you will have to choose a route through the Maze, while avoiding the Guards and their black hands!

Show of Hands: I will post a simple math problem for each person on here. They will only have a certain amount of time (say, three hours) to post a response and answer the problem. Otherwise, another player beats them to the answer and they lose!

Roll Out the Barrel: You will give me three of the six available keys, while sitting on top of the "barrel". Two keys will cause the slide to tip and get you battered, beaten and humiliated!

Ball Cupping: You will be shown a picture of a real Ball Cupping game, and have to predict where the ball will fall.

Bridge Ball: You must use arrows (< to move forward and > to move backward) to cross the bridge or use a line (|) to stay in place. But every time you make three moves across the bridge, balls will be fired at two random places on the bridge at the same time. Don't get hit! 12 forward movements will get you across the bridge, and it is your choice whether you make a run for it or move slowly across. You must stop upon reaching the third spot on the bridge to catch a golden ball shot by Tani. I will post an example when we get to it.

Final Fall: You will post a number 1-5 to choose your hole. As always, two holes are bad. Don't find the demons!

Show Down: You will choose you own dinky dodgem, 1 to 7, and then I roll a die to see which Emerald Guard you battle.

If the numbers added together form an even number, you get shot! If odd, you shoot the guard's ring!

If the guard is defeated, I roll again. If you get 6, you storm the castle by penetrating the Count's ring! If not you get squirted.
