Thank you for the updates! I find it really annoying that they insisted on having the Bridge of Blades every time seeing as the traditional "six obstacle course" only has one balance position. It just prevents other (more innovative and less tired) obstacles from getting a shot!
But I'm glad the Diving Boards and Slingshot got more limelight!
Is the Basket Toss the same as Slam Dunk?

Basket Toss is actually the Spin Cycle!
I agree with you entirely with regards to the balance obstacles - I think the reason they brought back the Bridge of Blades tho is because they don't want the cutoff to end up being obstacle 3 as we've had a lot of that in previous seasons so they've chosen a fairly easy obstacle. Would definitely like to see more balance variety between heats and later on in the show's run - would love to see a back-half balance obstacle and one on Stage 2 of the finals.
In other AuNW news, they're doing a special called State of Origin which is athletes from 5 Australian states competing against each other - not sure of the format but expecting something similar to USA vs The World.

You wait ages for one then three come along at once.
Also Chris Kamara has said Ninja Warrior UK has been axed. Now this isn't too much of a surprise but a bad move really by ITV as it rated well in demos it doesn't usually reach and more importantly repeated very well for them during lockdown, so there is certainly an audience there. It's a show I could see being picked up elsewhere once COVID hopefully blows over.

Ah! 
Can't believe it's cancelled in the UK - as you said I thought it was doing pretty well!
I think ANW's days might be numbered based-on ratings and their annual efforts to "jump the shark" and introduce new rules

American Ninja Warrior - honestly no interest in the Australian show.
No, they are definitely likely to renew it a few more times, but I meant that in a relative sense. Considering its longevity, I still think in five years the show will be gone, looking at ratings and the drastic format changes they've been doing.
A renewal a few years after it's cancelled is probably inevitable though!
