I thought Warrior UK was fully cancelled even before the lockdown stuff? Unless I'm just misremembering, but I could've sworn.
Yeah like Brekkie said conflicting reports - they originally said they had plans for another series but then Kammy said it was cancelled several times afterwards. I don't think anyone's entirely sure what went on because filming for the new series usually happens the August in the year before they air so the last time they filmed was August 2018 - it's highly unlikely covid would have affected series 6 plans unless they were planning a year off that year to make new plans for the series going forward. Their social media channels were also pretty active until the end of 2019, with Potato (the company making it) also tweeting runs with captions along the lines of 'we can't wait to see him have another attempt' so clearly that year they still had plans and said so much as well. Everything I heard was along the lines of the executive producer thinking the show had served its purpose and didn't need to be renewed after the total victory, what Kammy said backs that up too after he said the 'guy who commissions it' wasn't a fan of the show.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
Ah thank you for explaining.
Well that is interesting, and no surprise it's struggling since even some of the successful shows are in-limbo now. I'm sure they'll bring it back at some point though, even if it's a revival several years down the line.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
Hell’s coming? I thought that’s where we’ve been the past year
Yeah, I really like how they made that trailer and emphasized the course evolving. It felt much more exciting than just your typical advertisement.
I think I find the European courses themselves to look lame just because of how linear they are, even through Midoriyama. For Qualifying it doesn’t bother me, but the above-ground pools for the Finals just feels a bit cheap. They are up-to-date on our obstacles though - and now I wonder if we’ll see something like Dragonback on the next Sasuke tournament as well.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
Interview with Nick Kyrgios which mentioned a nice little detail I hadn't noticed:
Nick Kyrgios interview
The obstacles on path A of the crossroads are returning obstacles whereas path B are obstacles not seen before on AuNW

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
Don't know if I ever mentioned the airing schedule - three episodes a week, heat 1 has aired today so heat 2 on Monday, heat 3 Tuesday. Then one more heat next week before the first 2 semis. Then final semi and two-part final the week after. "Record Breakers" (All-Star special) I assume will air the week after.
Heat 1 obstacles:
1) Shrinking Steps
2) Big Dipper to Pole Rider
3) Cyclone Spinner (Rolling Escargot)
--Crossroads begin--
Path A:
4) Flying Shelf Grab
5) Floating Monkey [bars]
Path B:
4) Ring Chaser
5) Clockwork
--Crossroads end--
6) Warped Wall
• Top two advance to Power Tower for a direct pass to the final
The episode got off to a slow start but loved the emphasis on the evolved course and the contrast between returning obstacles on path A and new obstacles on path B. The course itself was clearly an upgrade on previous seasons but could really do with a balance obstacle. The episode sped up in the second half and we saw some returning competitors. Pretty good start overall and the teaser at the end of the episode for the rest of the season makes me quite excited for what's to come!
