Australian Ninja Warrior
Although the Sasuke/ Ninja Warrior following on here is pretty much non-existent (only 3 by the looks of things), thought I'd give this spin-off its own thread as I think it deserves it. I'll admit, the heats and semis are repetitive, especially this year with only 2 2nd obstacles, 1 3rd, 1 4th and 3 5th obstacles in the 5 heats but I think the ninjas are pretty strong for an international spin-off and obstacle choices are good.
I'd say this is also one of the best edited Ninja shows, certainly much better than ANW and NW France's editing. Not sure if I prefer this to NWUK5's editing though - two VERY different tones which both work very well for the kind of show.
As I said some great obstacle choices - easily one of the best spin-offs for that. Notable ones include Tuning Forks, Swing Surfer, Butterfly Wall and Spinball Wizard. However, some future courses have some very questionable choices and the obstacle repetition this series is honestly worse than France (after 2 heats, all but 1 of the Qualifying obstacles had been shown, and heat 1 and 3 had exactly the same course).
Still, undeniably one of the best ANW spin-offs around - well worth a watch (it's honestly entertained me more than ANW and is probably the main reason I forgot I watched the Cinci Qualifiers). Hopefully there's lots more good to come 🤞.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
I was actually watching YouTube clips of it for the first time ever today!
I've heard a lot of good things about it, but the repetitive obstacles have to hurt the show big-time. Were past seasons this bad? I don't remember cringing so hard at an obstacle lineup in the recent past
But yeah, the obstacle choices themselves are good. It's great to see the Tuning Forks back (interesting idea having them misaligned), and the Rolling Steel is even more unexpected! So props on that.
Does the Mega Wall prize remain at $5,000 for all three attempts?

Yes it does and interestingly as AuNW 3 was filmed before ANW 11, ANW actually copied AuNW's 3-attempt mega wall rules.
In terms of being repetitive AuNW has always been quite bad. Every season the third obstacle stats the same in all the heats, in season 1 only 2/9 obstacles were changed throughout the semis and the AuNW 1 final kept half the obstacles from the semis. AuNW 2 improved a lot on that but this season is definitely the most repetitive. Having exactly the same course for two heats is a big no-no, and it looks like the heat 2 course will also be repeated in either heat 4 or 5. The semis also look like they have virtually the same course as each other (really hoping they don't).
But yeah like I said, it's easily one of the most entertaining ANW spin-offs, if you have time you should watch it.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
I don't think I'll watch it. I don't think I'd be able to deal with the repetition after three episodes, and the course just doesn't look as cool as ours/Sasuke's.
I can't put my finger on it, but everything looks so off-scale on the European shows - the dismounts are so short and lame-looking, but many obstacles are half made of filler such as rope swings, lache bars, etc.
Sorry, lol, that's just my problem with the European versions - even the ones with better variety.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
This is the wrong one, right?
Having Bouncing Spider at the end is weird. Actually, Bouncing Spider being in any international show is surprising.

Correct, didn't know which one they'd air first so ended up posting wrong one, will edit post with correct semi-final ordering soon.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
Surprised to find Australian Ninja Warrior (the 2019 series) airing on ITV in the UK this afternoon - maybe a sign they haven't quite given up on it yet and that when circumstances allow they will film another UK series, hopefully next year.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
I thought Warrior UK was fully cancelled even before the lockdown stuff? Unless I'm just misremembering, but I could've sworn.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
It was but never really confirmed and there were conflicting reports. But then they reran two series back to back last year and they rated really well, so they'd be pretty dumb not to do another.
