Putter up! Meet the Holey Moley competitors. Sharing a passion for the game, precision putting skills and dreams of Holey Moley glory, these brave contenders will battle each other and the fierce Holey Moley course when the coveted competition tees off 7.30pm Monday, 1 February.

When it comes to success on the challenging course, Holey Moley co-commentator, Rob Riggle, believes the obstacles diminish any advantage professionals have over amateur golfers. ”Professionals may have more experience with putting, but there are so many obstacles to overcome that putting is only one part of the equation.”

Will strategy outplay strength? Can beginner’s luck conquer experience? Will fear foil a near victory? The Holey Moley obstacles will decide.

In the first round of each episode, eight players compete in a series of head-to-head matchups. Only the four winners go through to the second round to battle it out.

Those who are victorious head straight to the final hole. The remaining two compete in the Distractor Duel for the last spot in the final three-way battle.

The ultimate winner of each episode takes home the prestigious plaid jacket, the golden putter and books a spot in the Grand Final, where they will compete for the chance to win $100,000 on the daunting last hole, the Tomb of Nefer-Tee-Tee.

Holey Moley stars Greg Norman, Sonia Kruger, Rob Riggle and Matt Shirvington.

Main difference it seems it losing semi-finalists will compete for a third spot in the final, so they'll be an extra hole per show - although each show is 50% longer as well.

As I predicted this started out well enough in Australia but suffered from airing in a 90 minute slot, and on three consecutive nights. It began the week at 900k+, number one in it's slot, but by episode three had slipped to just over 500k and was third in it's slot.

Just seen episode 1. The extended run time definitely hurt it, it felt much slower than the US version. The Australian co-host with Rob Riggle didn't do it for me either, he played it a bit too straight, didn't give Rob much to bounce off really.

The game itself was pretty comparable to the original though and the course looked great.

It's strange that Beaver Creek has changed to the chicken thing. I think that's slightly more interesting theming, it's just strange they've only done it with the one! Guess it was the most generic one though...

Anyone seen episode 2? How are they doing at choosing different holes? Hopefully well as the MediaSpy page suggests there'll be 16 episodes!

It's dropped further this week to just 400k and at least one episode has now been scheduled for Saturday nights, a traditional burn off slot.

It's now dropped to 4th in it's slot and was just 9000 viewers ahead of the show in 5th place.

Think with them burning through three episodes a week the final is due next week anyway, and I suspect the celeb specials that were to follow may be postponed for a later date.

Wow! Hopefully they'll fix things up so it airs for one hour a week, not four-and-a-half. Maybe I don't know how Australian TV typically works, though.

If nothing else, some other countries should come and film on the course soon!

Season 3 is filming! Looks like there's a dinosaur themed hole as well as some kind of slide.

From this post, we can see that Dutch Courage is back as well as what looks like Arc de Trigolf 3.0.

Exciting! A dino hole is actually a really good theme - funny to think they haven't done that yet.

Curious if they're actually going to do the Double Dutch En Fuego idea as teased months ago emoticon
