Re: Fort Boyard
An interesting behind the scenes video has recently been uploaded, and it's in English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=jslu1sS0fl0 Contains construction footage from 1989, the future of the tigers, and apparently Tom Baker is American

To think, years ago, I wasn't happy about the removal of the Tigers in the first 3 seasons of Ultimate Challenge.
But nowadays, I completely understand why they're getting rid of the tigers. While they have been a staple to the fort since its inception, it definitely wouldn't be appropriate to keep them nowadays, especially in that setting.
For those wondering why the tigers are being removed, this is due to years of controversy regarding their usage, plus an application of the new law on animal abuse in France.
Interestingly, a few years ago, one of the tigers retired from the fort, and the producers decided not to replace that tiger, reducing the amount of tigers from 3 to 2, and it was decided that once the other 2 tigers retire, they will not be replaced, so they were planning on phasing them out for a while, although they ended up phasing them out sooner than originally planned.

Thanks.
I just had a thought. Seeing as they're getting rid of the tigers, I wonder if they're going to alter the Treasure Room a bit, as the cages (where the tigers would be kept during the game) would no longer be needed, or if they're going to keep the cages purely for decoration. And I wonder if they're going to keep Felindra/Monique just to turn the Tiger's Head, or get rid of her and just use another existing character to turn the Tiger's Head (particularly Passe-Partout, who was in charge of turning the Tiger's Head in 1991).

Re: Fort Boyard
I’ve come across an interview with Leslie Grantham from Jonathan Ross’ radio show from 2003. There’s a lot of interesting Fort Boyard chat at 5:34 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjtdgSxSO_c

Re: Fort Boyard
Despite the removal of the tigers, Felindra/Monique will still be involved in the show. She will continue to turn the Tiger's Head in the Treasure Room, and will once again sound the gong (it seems that after 2 years, Big Boo will no longer be in charge of the gong, but the character will still be in it), and it's possible that she may now be in charge of opening the Treasure Room gate.
Also, there's news that following the removal of the tigers, there will be animated tigers added in post-production.

It’s terribly out of sync but here’s the Fort Boyard pilot with Richard O Brien https://www.facebook.com/1264828690/videos/812710893472176/
You might recognise one of the contestants from Crystal Maze
