Re: Countdown Smells Now After Countdown has been featured on both CBB and a KH competition I searched for a few videos of Countdown and I agree with you, Dan. Why did they replaced Carol with that blond girl? I watched two episodes and Carol was amazing. She seems to be such a nice person and I can't understand why they replaced her. That blond one was just boring on CBB.

Re: Countdown Smells Now Well, actually, I'm going to eat my words now. I shouldn't judge on first opinions of photos. I always do stupid stuff like that.
It's been a year now since Jeff and Rachel have started, and I've actually grown to like them. More and more recently. Rachel has been making some little comments when things come up in the letters (Like "MR T" yesterday/Thursday, can't remember) that make me smile. She's obviously getting used to being on TV now/not as nervous.
And, the set did look better on TV than on the photos
Xtra Kountdown on Monday (<edit) though. With the fifth Countdown host... Monkeee Thankfully he had no time to do any bad puns.
Re: Countdown Smells Now Sixth actually... but then only a gameshow geek like me would know that! The Great Stellini yesterday was a highlight of the "Stelling's Spellings" era for me. One of the best from 2009 was the closest they can get to X-rated - when the first three letters spelt out 'STD', and Rachel said "Ooh, don't wanna touch that!"
Re: Countdown Smells Now The Great Stellini was great I loved the one the day before though too, with the 'paper' that wouldn't rip. Mainly because they used the clock outside of the game!
Re: Countdown Smells Now I didn't judge it on pictures, I just think Rachel doesn't stick out, at least on the episode I haven't seen. She just put the letters on the board and that was it. But I found that STD clip on YouTube and that was funny:

Actually I'm surprised that this show is on TV for 26 or 27 years now. I'm not sure if Countdown would work on German TV. If one of the public broadcaster would have started it years ago, it could be still on air (just because they wouldn't axe an old show). I think it's too ambitious for most people here. But I like it and some contestants were pretty amazing.
Re: Countdown Smells Now Seeing as Carol had been doing it 26 years, Rachel was always going to seem quiet and less confident in comparison! But yeah, I really like her and Jeff now.
It is pretty amazing that Countdown has been on for 27 years. I suppose a lot of people just watch out of habit. I've watched it all my life!
I think I heard that it's the 5000th episode soon. They did something special for the 25th Anniversary the other year, so I wonder if they'll do anything this time. It'll be the first special ep with J & R. They should play the game themselves, against each other. We'd get to see more of them then!
Re: Countdown Smells Now I never saw the ep where Richard and Carol did that, playing against each other. All UKGameshows says is that Fifteen to One's William G. Stewart hosted. Hope it turns up on YouTube some day.
