Re: Ninja Warrior at RTL2

I'm watching the first epsiode on RTL2 at the monent and a few impressions:

- the inserts were not translated
- there are two voice overs (but I don't know who does the voice over)
- it's a comedic voice over
- I don't like the voice over (sometimes they give them stupid names, e.g. Rübezahl for the very first candidate), but I guess I will tolerate it and come to like it during the season (just as the Takeshi voice overs^^)

and it's a little bit strange that they refer to older episodes, when somebody took part in a earlier year emoticon

Are the titles the same as the UK version, or do they look different?

same as the UK version emoticon

According to the outro the voice over is done by David Gromer and Norman Cöster.

I even know them, but I didn't identified their voices^^

David writes some comediac shows and hosted a few years ago some (call-in) shows and Norman is one of the inventors of Bernd the bread. ^^

I thought that was the old American logo. Still wonder why went back and changed them all!

I've seen a clip of the Spanish version and they give people on it 'funny' names too emoticon Isn't that sort of against the point, you should know who they are.

Was it the same as our first episode? Competition 9.

Sounds like they are following the format of the UK show rather than most others following the US show. By that I mean it is shown as a 'serious' competition in the US format, and each tournament is in order, while in the UK format it is light-hearted and starts from Sasuke 9 onwards, making references to previous tournaments, before going back to them. They will probably follow the UK order as well.

yep.. right now they referred to Nagano losing at the warped wall and the first winner on Ninja Warrior (who was disqaulifed at the first obstacle in episode 2). Fortunatelly they said their correct names. I guess it was just part of their jokes yesterday.

If RTL2 will broadcast another series, they should not drop the voice over. All they need to do is improoving their jokes and I can live with them emoticon

btw. yesterday's ratings for Ninja Warrior were quite good for RTL2: 8% in the target audience (more than RTL2's daily average).

Today's episode is horrible. They always talked in rhmyes. emoticon
I think they try different ways to voice over such a show - but yesterday's one was way better.
