Re: Takeshi's Castle Is Returning Spain is the first to get a promo out. Nothing in it actually related to the show other than a couple cropped images.
The same two guys from Humor Amarillo are back doing it. Let's hope that's a good sign...!
Re: Takeshi's Castle Is Returning Whoa the General's involved?? I figured he'd have some role, but makes me happy to see he (and his shoulders for some reason ) is confirmed a part of the show
Kind of mixed on the games teased in that video being mostly new. I'm hoping it's just to point out "Hey, we made some new concepts too" and the show won't obsess over the new stuff too much. At least we know for sure that there are lots of classic games too!
I do fear a bit that all these new games are "Move from start to finish using a two-dimensional mechanical obstacle" though. Whenever I try to think of new TC games I struggle because I think of these type of obstacles too, and they feel more like Wipeout than TC. These do look like very GOOD obstacles, I just hope they have plenty of other types of games. Ball Cupping being included is promising as that is a different concept than crossing an obstacle.
I'm not sure what the blue bridge one is either. At first I thought maybe the blue and red tubes were prods that contestants would fight guards with. Not exactly sure how that'd work, but the red could be contestants and blue would be guards (or vice-versa obv.) and they're knocking each other with the cylinders. But I didn't notice the bridge in the middle when I thought that, so yeah it's probably just balancing across the bridge.
Actually, I just realized when I typed "guards" that we have no confirmation that there will even be Emerald Guards on this remake. In fact, the games so far suggest there won't be The only guards I can think of that are guaranteed are the Honeycomb Maze ones and probably some for Bridge Ball (although as we've seen, some remakes don't even show the cannon guards!). So I really hope there is an "Emerald Guard" team, that's a big part of it.
On the bright side though, I'm overall feeling pretty positive about this! Good to see the General is there, we already know Takeshi is involved, the old hosts are returning, and the video doesn't strike me as modern, which is always a good thing
I really hope it keeps the original show's spirit even though other things have changed, and I really, really, really hope it becomes a regular show (although I guess it being on Amazon makes that less likely).
Re: Takeshi's Castle Is Returning How do we know for sure that Kitano is involved? I haven't found any confirmation of that yet. Please enlighten me if you know.
Maybe people can use auto-translation, but I anyway wanted to paraphrase the last paragraph, featuring comments from the two generals.
On the topic of what they found interesting on set..
Tani: 'Compared to the original show, there were a lot more foreigners and a lot more women taking part'.
For Kimura, he found it interesting to see so many people who had taken part in the original show trying again now, some of them with their kids/family in tow. There's a comment about how so many people had held the show in their hearts for so long.

Minor point. Looks like they are officially going with '風雲! たけし城' 'Fu-un Takeshi-jou' as the official title. Not keeping the 'Revival' part of the working title.

Re: Takeshi's Castle Is Returning I have a feeling Takeshi will probably appear on the screens on the castle, rather than actually be there himself. Those screens also make me wonder if the Show Down is going to be virtual now. That's based on nothing at all other than the fact there doesn't seem to be anywhere near enough room for carts to drive around in front of the castle. I can imagine a virtual Takeshi going past on the screen and having to shoot lasers at him or something. Not really as epic an ending as before - but this is just in my head and no reason to think it'll happen
