Re: Sasuke 40 is Confirmed! Okay, something pretty interesting that they're doing is posting 15 minute summaries of previous tournaments on YouTube. They've done the first two comps so far, and the titles imply that they will get through all of them before the Sasuke 40 airs.
Obviously it's nothing new or groundbreaking, but I will definitely be watching these as this is my first time in awhile having access to older Sasuke footage. Good marketing idea!
Re: Sasuke 40 is Confirmed! Wish I could be excited for this but what are the odds of an identical course? It's crazy how long it has kept a fairly boring course now. Stages 1 and 2 are crying for change at this point but from what I've heard Inui has spent the money on a new backdrop for the start of Stage 1 instead!
Re: Sasuke 40 is Confirmed! They did trails for a few places on Sasuke this year, which are being televised every day this week until Thursday. Seems like pretty simplistic stuff so far (press-ups, running etc). They started with I think 500 and they're cutting it down to 10, who will then take on a final round that seems to be some kind of obstacle course. Anyone of the 10 who clears gets a place in Sasuke. This is all pre-recorded as Sasuke filmed weeks ago now but very interesting that they're doing televised trails this year.
Re: Sasuke 40 is Confirmed! To be honest, I haven't watched. It's hard to get excited when basically nothing changes. Even the results are pretty predictable, and to be fair Inui does have a bit of a dilemma with Yusuke just being so much better than everyone else.
I should probably at least look for some of the highlights on YouTube. I need to see the new Final Stage!

Oh I forgot to say anything about this after I watched. It was actually better than I expected. Admittedly the course didn't change and some questionable editing decisions but it was a fairly entertaining tournament. A few notable old contestants returned as it was an anniversary one. The late runs of Stage 1 were probably the highlight, the end of the tournament was fairly good too. I think you should give it a watch but you can probably start about 2 hours in and not miss much you haven't seen before.
