Re: Episode 13: NOW That’s What I Call Wipeout

Camille is more present in the zone in season 9 which I'm happy about. She's my favorite and she's clearly the host that cares the most about the show. John and Nicole are also starting to get better. Hopefully the writing improves too.

It wouldn't be a bad thing if John and Nicole are too busy to attend filming of the Wipeout Zone for the next block of episodes and they go back to doing the zone from the booth.

Camille misses the next episode as she was off sick. I doubt it'll be noticed much, but be interesting to see how they handle it - presumably with a running gag. Suspect in the original run Henson would have stepped in with a running gag of him running up and down to the studio.

I feel like the original show may have delayed the filming until she felt better - I just can’t see them having an episode without her. Maybe in the earlier days they would have though, and that would probably be exactly what Henson did if it ever did happen! I’m kind of surprised this doesn’t affect multiple episodes though. I always assumed they filmed all of these Qualifiers together or at on consecutive days. Maybe they actually planned this as a storyline and she wasn’t sick?..

Either way, I’m not complaining. This is something different to spice up a pretty boring run of episodes - whenever it may air with this new development.

I agree Brekkie about having only Camille in the Zone, but LS6 I only hope she wasn’t just there for the press-day (like John in the original).

They did have Jill Wagner in the booth for one round in an episode in the early series with Henson on the course. Assumed it was just done as a gag at the time but is possible it was a way of covering Jill not being available for filming of that round.

That is true. I know that block was already delayed due to weather so maybe Jill wasn’t expecting to film that day - or their usual ability to fit her schedule wasn’t possible because they were shorter on time. They sure did a good job of covering that up though if so (or I’m just slow), never thought of that.

Not worth double posting in the other thread, but before we have a chance at seeing the new course, we apparently have to see a man with three nipples in the next episode emoticon

All of this years episodes have suddenly become available. Had a couple of hours spare this afternoon so was going to watch a couple but I started with this one and felt no urgency at all to watch the next. Just watching the show with zero investment now - and that's not how it should be. With the original run I was invested in the hosts, the course, the competitions and the contestants - with this version it's just remembering to turn it off when the credits role.

Where? Officially or as a download? Please only direct me to the episodes in public if they are official emoticon

I know I'll feel just like you said, but I haven't watched any of the new episodes, so I may feel like it's fresh for an episode or two.

I was here about three years before I even realised I had an inbox. Indeed only found out the other day you can do friend requests on here, so apologies to those who asked back in 2013.
