Endurance was a cult hit in the UK in the 90s from shows like Tarrant on TV. Then came the UK version hosted by Paul Ross. It fully fit the old stereotype of sadistic hellish torture that Western countries had of Japanese TV. Craig's commentaries of Takeshi's Castle and Sushi TV had an element of that to it. Even the name Sushi TV has a bit of a 'how weird is this?!' to it. Except Craig did the same as we fans did and dug deeper into what was going on and soon started to know what he was talking about, which is why he's fondly remembered. Subsequent shows were made with more effort too, such as my other favourite from that time, Drunken Businessmen, which was five minute subbed clips from Sanma's Gimmick TV. Later we got Ninja Warrior with Jim North, and Unbeatable Banzuke with Brian Blessed- er, I mean, BANZUKE BRIAN! (Cannot unsee...) Both with a lot of work put into them to be as authentic as possible, whilst putting a Western spin on it. Particularly Jim expanding upon what the US G4 edit had on Ninja Warrior, and more when Challenge provided the Western premiere of Ninja for a time. nondisclosed_email@example.com (rsmcc)Thu, 28 Mar 2024 22:19:51 +0000 Re: Challenge TVhttps://bkeshiheads.runboard.com/p369298,from=rss#post369298https://bkeshiheads.runboard.com/p369298,from=rss#post369298Quote:General Jonnie wrote: Extreme Endurance was the other show. That sounded like a fun day, all I know it happened sometime in Spring 2005. If they did a new day like this (like during the early sky era), it will be Takeshi's, Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzkuke, 3 brilliant Japanese shows during that time. (But then didn't Challenge include all 3 back to back once during a morning block during Summer 2009?)nondisclosed_email@example.com (channel4squares1)Thu, 28 Mar 2024 19:46:23 +0000 Re: Challenge TVhttps://bkeshiheads.runboard.com/p369295,from=rss#post369295https://bkeshiheads.runboard.com/p369295,from=rss#post369295Extreme Endurance was the other show. All I know, is Sushi TV, Drunken Businessmen and Takeshi's aired on that day. Does anyone know what else aired on that day, and when did it happen?nondisclosed_email@example.com (channel4squares1)Thu, 28 Mar 2024 17:12:09 +0000 Re: I Cleared My First Full Course!https://bkeshiheads.runboard.com/p369291,from=rss#post369291https://bkeshiheads.runboard.com/p369291,from=rss#post369291I failed a few times, but this still might be one of my most successful runs in terms of new things. I was not expecting to get the Double Salmon Ladder transition or cane hops: nondisclosed_email@example.com (Messup434)Mon, 25 Mar 2024 19:27:28 +0000 Re: Formula 1, anyone?https://bkeshiheads.runboard.com/p369290,from=rss#post369290https://bkeshiheads.runboard.com/p369290,from=rss#post369290That was certainly interesting, if not that exciting as driving But what a nightmare season start for Bottas and Sauber F1 Game scores after 3/24 races: Active Game: 76 points: LE 59: rsmcc 51: Simelius 48: Trila* 43: Susa* 41: Kaunisto 37: Petal Alderin 34: Messup434, bonmarjie 28: buckeyesue, Barbara12 26: DuffDan* 25: Nick 22: Li0nh3eart 16: Morwen Oronor 14: Queenyforever 12: EyeOfTheBeholder83 8: eaglewings 6: Codex89, Justbec* (*=not playing Active Game separately so Passive Game score counts also for Active) Best of the Rest: 40 points: eaglewings 36: Kaunisto 33: Morwen Oronor 30: Justbec 28: buckeyesue 25: EyeOfTheBeholder83, Barbara12 22: LE 15: Li0nh3eart, Messup434, Codex89, Susa 2: rsmcc, Simelius 1: Queenyforever, Petal Alderin 0: Nick, DuffDan, Trila, bonmarjie Passive Game: 55 points: LE 53: Kaunisto 50: Simelius 48: Trila 43: buckeyesue, Susa 42: Li0nh3eart 36: rsmcc 34: Petal Alderin, bonmarjie 26: Messup434, DuffDan, Morwen Oronor 25: Nick 21: Queenyforever 6: Justbec Team Game: 35 points: Simelius 6: Kaunisto, Nick, Susa, buckeyesue, Trila 5: rsmcc, Justbec, Barbara12, Messup434, bonmarjie 0: 9 playersnondisclosed_email@example.com (Kaunisto)Sun, 24 Mar 2024 15:42:24 +0000
