Well, not a leak - official footage. If I didn't know better I'd say they were using archive footage.

The motivator probably just sums up the entire series - there for the sake of it, not because they've had an amazing idea which warrants bringing it back.

I don't think anyone was expecting something groundbreaking. I am disappointed in how much of the course looks just plain ugly. Instead of using the classic arrows on the paths that were easy on the eyes, they took those weird arrows they used in the 2a course when they didn't have a Sucker Punch and are using them in place of the regular arrows.

I was also promised that the Big Balls would be bigger than ever but these look pretty small to me.

You never wanna see balls shrink that much.

Yeah, that doesn't look particularly promising, especially the balls and a rerun of the plank Motivator. I know it makes it even more obvious, but I was hoping after three seasons of "hidden" Motivators they would go back to something more like the Ball Tapper or Dreadmill where it's more an obstacle than a Motivator. Obviously not then! Also hope they don't try to motivate everyone, seeing as that's the only footage we have so far of the Balls. Not saying it's likely, but possible. Hope they give Smallsy a rest too.

The first clip is short, but it looks either like a Poundabout recreation (maybe using the Total Carnage structure we saw earlier) or something where they have to crawl across the yellow log. Looks a bit thick to be a Sweeper, so maybe it is something you have to cling onto. The green wall in the background would either be the final Qualifier obstacle (probably some Smackroom) or a later stage of the round if this is one of the Round 2s.

The starter doesn't look promising either, especially if that's the one they chose to advertise. But maybe he's not falling because of a smackwall. The way he flips doesn't seem like he got pushed by a usual wall in my opinion. I see the panel at the end, yes, but that looks avoidable to me. I would expect someone to clear that obstacle.

So we've only seen this one starter so far, right? emoticon For now I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say as they've only filmed a few episodes, that's the only reason we keep seeing it. I'm not sure the starter in this video has a different theme than the one in the Google Earth image - to me that whole picture just looks pretty gray. Fingers crossed, anyway! I'd be okay with them repeating a few of th ebiggest starters (as they have done in earlier seasons), as long as the vast majority of the time is something original.

If my prediction is correct (and so far all of my predictions have had stunning success), they just reskinned that first obstacle and used it again. We're also seeing the Rumble Motivator return and a Sweeper Gauntlet in one of the middle rounds.

Maybe they felt like season 7 should have been 20 episodes longer. emoticon

I don't know what pushed that guy, but it looks like it could give us some pretty good falls. We do see a regular platform right after the relatively small obstacle so I'm still hoping my 3 part starter prediction holds strong.

In other good news, we know they're not going to be holding hands. This probably was never going to happen but I still worried about it.

That swinging bar thing looks like part of a middle round to me. I doubt they'd show footage of a middle round before finishing up with it. However, we are nearing Christmas so I'm guessing the filming of the first block could be coming to an end.

If I had to guess where they are in filming right now, I'm guess that the qualifier is pretty much done, they've got one middle round done filming and have started on another, and zone is nearing the end of construction.

In a wider shot of the start, we can see that he was knocked over by another smackwall.

You're right - this season really does feel like a natural continuation from season 7! emoticon They probably would've kept the Motivator and blades in place too for season 8 with how lazy they got.

That really sucks that it was a smackwall that pushed him.. and a very blatant one as it's just a solid yellow wall in the background. Also, is that pink thing just a "W" in the middle? Seems really lazy, ugly, and I hope they're not putting the Wipeout W in pink!! Although the balls look pink too so all bets are off emoticon

So it's basically a budget Wipeout Wall.
Still, I do think for some reason that the obstacle will be beaten (especially if they use it in multiple episodes..). Those walls don't look too hard to avoid. Of course, we haven't actually seen the walls themselves in action yet. And thanks for the pic - think I'll share it on our Twitter.

Sucks though as they could've been so much more creative with the obstacle and still kept an element of trickery. Everyone who's seen the show (eg. all the contestants) is expecting a panel to pop out and hit them. So they could make the contestants suspicious of the wall, but really the steps are the challenge. So, a couple of the steps slide in and out of the wall, a couple are like diving boards so really bouncy, a couple drop when stepped on, and a couple of them have a small block balanced on top that'll slide when a contestant steps on it. THAT would be a good obstacle, and it'd be able to trick both/all three contestants. The way they've done it, it seems the second person will even know exactly where the wall is going to hit them. Such fun emoticon

I'm hoping there is a second block. There's no reason there shouldn't be really.

I'm not expecting much from this revival but need to see a bit more to get as critical as you pair are. We've barely seen 3 seconds of footage!

That's true BUT if these three seconds are the ones they chose my hopes aren't very high.

I am excited though! Nothing looks particularly horrible so far but not groundbreaking either!

I guess part of it was just me setting my hopes to high.

Also, I've been saying that that start looks like the Wipeout Family Tree. Now, that we've seen the push/smack combination, it's safe to say that this is literally just the Nutcrackers but pink.

I'll also add that I'm still excited. Even despite the quality dropping around season 7, I still tuned into every episode and I'm sure I will be doing the same with this reboot.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but the new banners look absolutely horrible emoticon

I hope they have more variations than just those blue and yellow rectangles with a pink "W".
