Episode 8 (13th November)

Curious to see what tomorrow brings.. that isn't a uniform check or a test.

Anyone wanna guess games to get some conversation going?

I'm thinking we might finally see the Tug of War/Show of Hands ep, but curious to see other speculation...

I hope to finally see a change of starting game with the Great Wall instead of boring and muddy Slippery Wall but more importantly I hope that Skipping Stones returns as I wouldn't enjoy watching the show without this game.

But I also hope that Mud Ball is played at some point as this is now the only game along with Berry Bayou not to be played in Arabic yet.

Re:

I find this episode a lot better than the previous one.

Because for starters, I was finally delighted to see the Great Wall showing up as I prefer that wall version to the Slippery one because I find it easier to win at.

The hand costumes in the Show of Hands looked nice in red but the only weird thing is that the teacher was standing on the surface instead of on top but regardless, was nice to watch.

And it was so good to see Skipping Stones back as I started missing that game after it not appearing for a couple of weeks. I also hope that this game soon appears with the Commander wearing white.

The Tug of War was alright but could've been better with five or six opponents instead of just four. Otherwise, I was interested at the new way contestants had to choose the ropes by pulling out a coloured ball from a box, very similar to the Sumo Rings method.

Wet Paint was again nice to see what with there being a character chosen that resembles a smiley face and another one that looks like a J or even a candy cane. It didn't look good though when the guard on top instantly washed the painting away after contestants won.

High Rollers and Velcro Fly are still very good games to watch and I certainly expect to see them back often.

It was interesting in Roller Derby to see some different coloured horses like Red No.1 and a few others but was even nicer to finally see the Commander showing up in this game. It looked funny again when just like last week, some contestants falling over due to not knowing how to skate.

The all new Bridge Ball (Small) is what I am now getting used to although it's a good thing that there were more contestants walking than running including a contestant that managed to win by crawling his way across which was the best moment of the game I enjoyed this week.

And Dominoes still doesn't look good unless the crew decides to paint the rectangular object to a proper white background with dots. Nevertheless, it was interesting to see the game being made harder with bigger gaps in between some dominoes but was still good to see some wins.

Because of there only being 12 contestants through to Final Fall this week, I had a strong feeling that there would only be a small amount of players getting through and I definitely knew there would only be a 3% chance of a win with that amount.

I was surprised that the Honeycomb Maze was absent for the first time ever as I had expected that game to be consecutively played a ton of times due to the amount of it's high popularity but it's good to see it rest at least once if not more.

This episode gets a 8/10 star rating from me.

You should be happy about this week's episode then, both games are featured emoticon

Great Wall is not intended to be an exciting game, but it did what it needed to do and it was a nice change I must admit

Same goes for Show Of Hands. It was never one of my favourite games in the original but I will always welcome a new game, and it did what it needed to.

Tug Of War was the third new game this week. Interesting they start the game with a coloured ball lottery as seen in Sumo Rings, but it's definately welcome.

While their Bridge Ball isn't the most faitful remake of the original game, it was my favourite one this week, especially when one guy got two balls in the face and then flipped off the bridge!

I really enjoyed it this week. As much as I like Honeycomb Maze, it was quite nice to have a break from it this week. However it will be back next week along with Sumo Rings

Re: Episode 8 (13th November)

Sorry all, I've had the flu for almost a week now emoticon Thank you for updating the episode guide without me emoticon

I'm glad I didn't dream-up the existence of The Great Wall! emoticon It works well, although it's obviously not the most interesting to watch.

Show of Hands: ARGH! I really hated how they did this one emoticon Not showing the equation is annoying, but the stupid musical cuts every second makes it even worse. Also the fact that we have to watch some hands fall in slow motion AND they are obviously all told to collapse on the others hands for teh LOLZ. emoticon

Skipping Stones was good today! A couple of weeks off probably helps, though certainly isn't necessary! It's a bit weird though how the one final stone can sink emoticon And seems as if the contestants who ran later on realized as the one man dived over the last stone.

Tug of War was good. Okay, I'd rather they stuck with the original style of simply grabbing the rope you want, but that's minimal. I'm surprised that they went with having multiple people/the bulldozer! I'm glad they're willing to use silly choices, though in the future they might want to add at least two serious opponents (here they were all either way too easy or way too hard), or at least add a fifth fighter. The game felt backwards though emoticon

High Rollers is kinda good, I have to admit.

Wet Paint = fine, Velcro Fly = meh, but why does everyone win with their backs? And are they always wearing the yellow ones or is it just me? Also dunno why the game's always so interview heavy.

Whoa, yeah, the Roller Derby horses ARE strange this week! The fact that they have costumes that we hadn't seen until this point leads me to believe that there are/will be more than 13 episodes emoticon Seems like they might've let the top two win this week, as well? Maybe.. emoticon

Yes, it's always nice to see an occasional slow win in "Bridge Ball". It's just a shame the game doesn't work anywhere like the original version emoticon Hopefully they at least play it at the end, in the dark someday!

The wider gaps in Dominoes were interesting... almost seemed like a planned modification. They made it a lot harder at the end.

Yeah, not having Honeycomb Maze gave the episode a fresher flavor, which goes to show every game can be rested every once in a while
