I hope Skipping Stones returns with possibly a different starting game which would really spice up the show bit.

Re: Episode 7 (6th November)

According to the trailer at the end of last week (and assuming it's correct), I don't think Skipping Stones is in today. It shows Skittles, Velcro Fly, Turtle Hurtle, Honeycomb Maze, Run Way, Wipe Out, High Rollers and Dominoes.

I think there's one mystery game in this one, as that's only eight main games. Bridge Ball? Wet Paint? Maybe even Sumo Rings?

Nah, it has to be Slip Way emoticon

This episode has featured yet again the boring Slippery Wall when it would have been better with a different starting like The Great Wall which I hope appears soon. 😑

At least one of my favourite games, the Star Bowling appeared consecutively for the first time although I wasn't too happy when the evil guard knocked over contestants who stood standing. 😒

It was also nice to see another new game show up which definitely was the Turtle Hurtle but there was only one guard chasing the players instead of two. Oh well, one guard is better than none and he wore a funny blue clown wig as well. 🙂

In Velcro Fly, I was also amazed at a couple of contestants at how they were able to latch themselves onto the wall backwards as that is harder than trying to land on your front. 😲

I also wondered why in a couple of games like this one, why the Commander was absent as he didn't appear at all in the roller game which seemed like he was on a tea break. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This time in Roller Derby, players were so terrible at roller skating as most of them were lazy or had never used this equipment before. 😂 Also I was surprised that in the second race, there were only four players instead of five.

I hope Skipping Stones appears again at some point especially with the Commander wearing white as this popular game is what makes the show look fun. 🙏🏼

Turtle Hurtle was a welcome addition. The turtles weren't in a straight line but it made the game more interesting

Nice to see Run Way and Dominoes back

Re: Episode 7 (6th November)

Turtle Hurtle is a pretty good remake! Having one guard is another one of those changes that I question, but it doesn't seem to matter anyway! The curve was interesting! At first I thought it was a way to either modify or upgrade the game, but then it's built in the pool they dug for Palm Tree Trip, so I think they just didn't have space for them being in a straight line. It still worked pretty nicely though.

And it's cool that we can evidently still have Palm Tree Trip in the "new" eps, seeing as it was used in ep 4.

Slippery Wall feels like the longest segment, which isn't great (mind you, they're all short segments, but it's still not like it's intended to be).

Skittles seemed better this week(?), as at least the guard left the first batch of pins alone. Seems like they truly do eliminate those who the guards manually knock over, judging by the significantly higher number of people moving on this week compared to last emoticon I guess that's the problem with multiplayer games and every competitor only actually playing one "main" game (I assume that's the case..).

Nice to see a bit more paint in the Maze. No problem with it being in all seven eps so far, as long as it CAN be rested. Look at the original show, it was played for 41 episodes straight. It's when you have games that have to be played every week (whether due to limited game quantity or "tradition) that it's a problem. But I'm sure they'll rest it sometime.

On the other hand, I feel we need a bit more Skipping Stones. It seems it was played in all of the early episodes, but often not used in the later ones (I'm talking about production order, not the crazy way they're presenting the order). I'm sure it'll be back in more soon.

Wipe Out just feels like one of the lamest games. While it's circumference does lack a bit (dang it, I'm turning into Craig emoticon ), the game would be much better with a faster-moving board. No one ever gets trapped on the middle platform because the board moves so slow. I guess it's a good thing, considering they have no guard on the platform anyway emoticon

Dominoes and Run Way are a lot of fun emoticon I just don't understand the need for multiplication and division in Run Way. The way they apply the parentheses isn't very consistent either...

The backward wins in Velcro Fly are surprising, but I don't like that the majority of winners seem to do it. Surely they don't need velcro on their backs anyway? It just feels a lot "smaller" when people win that way. Plus, I don't like when "special" things happen every time (such as everyone being knocked off the Palm Tree Trip platform by the stalk). I feel like a bit more discretion is needed in the editing to keep special moments entertaining and not redundant.

Off my soapbox, Roller Derby was pretty fun emoticon Back on my soapbox, the funny moment at the end of the first round was spoiled by the same exact thing happening again in the second round. It may not be intentional, but it just feels cheap.

I realize this is probably making no sense emoticon

As usual, my review makes it seem like I disliked this episode, but it wasn't too bad! I usually provide mostly criticism on these reviews (as may be noticed emoticon ), but what they're managing to do is so amazing. Who would've suspected just a couple months back that we'd have a legit new series of Takeshi to follow?
