After just about a year of nothing, we finally have a new episode (well, full season obviously!) emoticon I WANT to be excited. Three games have been added. One game has been removed. There are now seven main games to choose from. This means that there COULD be a bit of variety IF they stick to only playing five of these games each week. But this trailer does show all seven (but some are old clips anyway, so maybe it doesn't mean much.. emoticon ) main games in action:

Quick thoughts here:

High Rollers actually looks like it causes some good falls. There are only six rollers, but the gaps between the platforms and the rollers on the ends seems pretty long, so it shouldn't be too easy! The GoPro camera could become annoying if used frequently, but could also be a nice touch.

Run Way looks pretty good - though obviously just dumps them in the pond. The pencil outfits are silly, but brighten the color-scheme, which is a plus!

The Quake set still looks really good. You can see where the budget went emoticon

Three guards in the Honeycomb Maze is probably how it will always be this season.

There's something behind Mud Ball (not High Rollers obv., but some kind of wall on the top-right side. Long-shot, but it could be something?!

This information would probably work just as well in the series 3 thread (as it'll be the same exact ep each week), but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt...

Fine. Identical episodes or not, I can't wait!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I've also noticed that exactly like in the Japanese edition, the High Rollers game is also making it's debut here in episode No. 41.

I came here to share the same sentiment my friend! If my eyes are showing me what they seem to be this season looks really good. emoticon

Agree with you, Jonnie and Bryan! Usually they upload the first few episodes fairly promptly, so let's hope we get something soon.

..And let's hope they bother to continue uploading them to YouTube at all emoticon

Great observation. Knowing how different TC original and TCI are, I have to assume it just worked out this way, but it is cool.

Now if only they would release Brat Sack, Roll Out the Barrel, Turtle Soup and Whack the Stack next week, as those were introduced in ep 42 on the original.

But this would require a) going the extra mile to keep things exciting and b) holding a parents & kids episode, neither of which we can ever really expect emoticon

So then...

Quake: it took me a while to get used to the speed of the moving house. The original Japanese one goes quite fast, Indonesia's one rocks side to side slowly and then gets a little quicker. Overall not too bad.

High Rollers: this remake reminds me of the Rollers in Taiwan's Ever Victorious, they don't roll too much when you step on them, but still causes casualties. It was great to see from the clips they uploaded someone running on the spot like a cartoon character as Craig Charles would say. Interesting to have the goal area really high (especially when the game is called High Rollers emoticon )

Run Way: probably the best one of the new games. It was fun to have the battlefield reporter demonstrating the game on the old Slip Way board!!...accompanied by the Super Man theme which was nice, as it was used a lot in Japan's earlier episode. Also it looks like they got inspiration from the TC Rebooted opening titles for the game's artwork...

I agree with most of what you've said, Jonnie, but not everything!

First of all, I found this ep really frustrating to watch because it was uploaded in completely random ordering. This happens every five-or-so episodes, but unfortunate that they did it for the premiere emoticon As long as it doesn't become a constant, it's alright.

Speaking of things that I hope change, I PRAY that they don't use all seven games every week! If they only did the usual five, there would be some variety from episode to episode, unlike last season.

They have more than the minimum amount of games now, but they insist on flaunting all of them every week. Stupid move.

The fact that Final Fall seems to be gone (I know emoticon It wasn't in any of the YouTube clips or shown over the credits, which it was last season) makes me think we will see all seven of these games every week. Unless, of course, they only used all seven for the premiere and will soon revert back to five games and Final Fall. It's doubtful, though. And if it is gone, it's almost certain they will use all seven main games each week, because it would seem to odd to just leave one out each time. I wouldn't mind the odd-seemingness, though, if it provided a bit of variety.

And Final Fall literally offered the most variety of anything last year emoticon

I digress, the new games themselves are overall good.

I agree that Quake is the biggest disappointment and feels off because of the motion (it looks more like how the Jiggleators moved on Wipeout). Also, the cushions sag down so much that contestants are half on the ground even when they begin. Plus, it seems we won't see anyone fall out the front as we often saw in Japan. The stuff on the walls is a nice/important touch, but NO FOG emoticon

The Run Way has some annoying elements (though I agree, the Slip Way reference tickled me), but I was impressed that the disc stayed on-track as the Instagram picture made it look like it'd constantly be falling off the side! Seems a bit easier than the Japanese version (I could read the numbers better anyway), but wasn't that only addition and subtraction? Curious if they followed "order of operations" with the multiplication, I should pay better attention next time emoticon The colors of the game are a bit garish and the background is unfortunately ugly as it was for Slip Way. Here's hoping we see Slip Way make a retrn to add variety, but that's HIGHLY doubtful.

High Rollers is my fave. Probably just because it's the most classic of the games added and at least follows design overall. I agree, the rollers seem to not spin as much, but I think they're further apart (and the platforms definitely are emoticon ), which seems to give it a fairly-similar knockout-rate.

Skipping Stones and Honeycomb Maze magically seem more enjoyable this time around, maybe I'm just remembering it to be worse than it was emoticon. I just wish all of the vegetation behind the Stones hadn't grown so we could see if anything is going on in the lake behind.

Speaking of things being built, I saw something interesting to the right (or left in reality) of the Rice Bowl slope but it was again obscured by the bushes. The new background for the game doesn't do much. Staying in the bowl is still far too easy.

Mud Ball should've been the game they sacrificed, instead of Slip Way (though I get that they did it because it matches with Run Way). They could've built Dragon Lake and... Something else over the pit.

But they can still build Bridge Ball, please!!

Look whose popped out from his rabbit hole! Sorry for my absence DuffDan, Messup434, General Jonnie and others but I'm on my way down from a long hangover that resulted from a seemingly innocent late night game of darts in the basement. Lesson learned though: Don't mix booze with staying up until 3:30 in the morning emoticon

Yesterday I came home to the missus requesting that we binge on a new series of Jane the Virgin on Netflix - little does she know that the Irish and Spanish soap operas are not a winning recipe! Relationships, huh?! emoticon

Oh Jonnie I also found myself picking out inconsistencies with our new events. The house in Quake moved so strangely when compared to the original house. Although maybe I am simply misremembering seeing as though Challenge only showed this particular challenge (unintentional sleep-deprived Leprechaun puns for free!) a number of times.

I can only rate the challenges based on their similarities to the original (Japanese) sets. So unfortunately the High Rollers get a resounding "No!" from this humble Irish samurai! The game is well built and it works uniquely from the Japanese game but as a replica it is unfortunately a screw up game. The platform should not take out half of our players. emoticon

I am tired of the slippery Wall - though it is a beautiful shade of green - the missus agrees with me that we need an alternate! My top pick for a new game would be the original Bite the Bun game from Japan. The missus wants Foot Loose from Thailand - ever the impractical one, hey? emoticon

Season three will need much variation throughout but it will be enjoyable, for sure! emoticon
