Variations

I think TCI is the boringest (spelling? emoticon ) version simply because the games are always the same and they never change them. Japan has over a hundred games. Thailand had a handful of games and some cracking (I’m practicing being British may I have some tea emoticon ) variation ideas.

Indonesia only ever had five games so it needed some variety but it never received it. How would you modify these games?

- Make Slippery Wall steeper
- Roll balls down Slippery Wall
- Don’t spray hoses

-Put a rose or cactus on the Skipping Stones like they did in the later episodes in Thailand
-Permanently remove the stones that sink waaaay too slowly, it looks lame. emoticon

- Make the competitors collect something in the Honeycomb Maze. It could be a ball from the Slippery Wall or the cactus and rose from Skippig Stones (I am considering a low budget).

- Catch It is hard to change, maybe catch a balloon instead? Or do the hoses like the Thai version did for Valentines Day. emoticon

- Rice Bowl Down Hill is also hard to change but I would put rocks all over the water slide! emoticon
-Also they can bring back the chicken bowl from episode 2. emoticon

-Slip Way put oil on the track (like Giant Jumbo did in Thailand) or make the goal smaller (I know I sound like i’m copying the Thai version. emoticon )

-Final Fall has different costumes which is fine

-Show Down have boulders scattered around the tarp.

Then build Avalanche for season 3!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

That’s true, they’d just need to literally bug a rose and that could be used to mix-up two games without much work at all (maybe even three with Final Fall emoticon ) emoticon Or, as you said with the Slippery Wall hoses, they could even modify games to be easier occasionally!

Although, it might be late for that if it’s been cancelled in the end emoticon

Oh, I do too! Even with the repetition and same five games ad nausea, it'd keep Takeshi alive in some, pathetic capacity emoticon

I just thought of a new idea. Add Rice Bowl Downhill, Skipping Stones, Skittles, Extinction, abridge Ball, Mishroom Trip, and Wipeout back into the mix. They have them so why not using them? emoticon

Skipping Stones was already in season two, but wish they would have the others! Although it was ruined by those extremely slow-sinking Stones so it might be better to bring the season one version over anyway emoticon

BUT the reason they don’t play these anymore is because they moved location after the first 20 eps and brought-over only the minimum number of games - making the last (and by last, I suggest “final ever” by the looks of it emoticon ) episodes as repetitive as possible emoticon

No changes? They do end up changing it at some point in series two, right? Maybe a little belated as I felt was also the case with series 1, but there would have to be a little change really.

Also a bit ironic that you make a joke at British spellings, yet fail to realize that America has many terms not seen in the UK.

But I'll say that your suggestions are pretty good - and thinking it says something that two of your simpler ideas are the ones that jump out at me most. Rolling balls down Slippery Wall and sticking rocks over the Rice Bowl Down Hill slope!

Editing to add: I just found the episode guide. Great stuff, but really can't believe the second season was pretty much identical week on week! emoticon Anyway, knowing what we have now I'm going to post up an idea of how to work season 3 - with the benefit of not having a budget to worry about!

Sorry that our American speak is too coloUrful for you emoticon emoticon

You're right that simple ideas are often the best variations - and pretty cheap too. That's why I never let that be a show's excuse for being repetitive emoticon

Re: Variations

I think too you could rather easily have several variations used for most games. For example, in my plans for series 3 thread, I listed some simple objects that could be used for several games (ball in Slippery Wall, Honeycomb Maze and Mud Ball; also, too with the eyepatch for SS and HM). That's the way to go really - could probably buy a load of new twists with a one dollar bill!
