Common Misconceptions

List many questions/things that so many fans believe that aren’t true. I bet you’d be surprised how many read this and learn a truth about the show (for example, I always believed in there being a Parents & Kids episode for Roller Derby, where the kids got seriously hurt. I also thought it possible for a while that Tani really was shot in the arm by the arrow during Wet Paint emoticon).

Also:

No one on Takeshi’s Castle has been seriously injured - it’s all just cuts and bruises. They have to have at least 88 people wanting to play each week, doubt that even the Japanese people would be eager to apply for the show if its as so horribly dangerous. If you tell me you found a chart with a bunch of injury stats on it, that was made as a joke 15-ish years ago for another ‘Keshi website. The worst they ever got is probably a broken-arm emoticon

There weren’t “no winners” - there were eight second cases of Tani’s team storming the castle (two with water-pistols, six with lasers)! Craig missed several of the winners in series one and said they’d lost for all but one, when there were really three or four wins there.

Anyone got anything else?

It isn’t true? lol.

I am playing only lol.

Well I do not think a player in Bridge Ball actually lost a nut. I think this was a tale twisted by Craig Charles lol.

I fell on my nuts last year but it was not quite so damaging lol.

lol.

lol.

I should probably not write about this.

I will be around if anyone needs anything.

You must have meant to say Go Nuts emoticon Actually the second version of Go Nuts may be thought by most to have been boring/hard to reset for the staff, and that’s why they stopped playing it. That isn’t the case though - the hill and yellow fort were set aflame by a bicycle-hang who cut a hole in the fence behind it - and they stopped using this hill altogether (until so 131 for the ball rolling segment of Ultimate Show Down) for safety reasons.

If you think this is nonsense, look at the hill in the background of Wipe Out in the episodes soon after - all the grass is charred and the pine-trees have disappeared completely!

WHAT

I think a more general (hehe, theres my pun again) misconception is classifying the Japanese in such a stereotypical angle emoticon

It happens always but I feel the Japanese are at the brunt of stereotypes. I don't know why, but I feel like it! emoticon

Yep, it's definitely a prevalent issue. And not helped by the new Japandemonium show that I've just watched and found to amplify the issue (review in topic emoticon ).

Of course there are some crazy shows in Japan, but that's a universal thing, anyway! emoticon

The water isn't as muddy or dirty as you think it is.

The water was pumped in for the shoot and then drained. You can't leave stagnant water there and use it for a year. You can catch some bad stuff from standing water like that.

But really, if you see some playings of Skipping Stones, you'll see the water is pretty clear.
