Some of the games didn't have BGMs (In the Sack, Brat SAck, Annimudle) and some of the games share the same BGM (Die Or Pie and Hands Down or Giant Maze and Space Invaders).

Boulder Dash was played twice in the UK series (even though they were different games they had the same title). When it was played in episode 1 it didn't have a BGM but when it was played in the monsters special it had the Ultraman Theme as the BGM (albeit a remixed version).

Uphill Garden did not have a BGM in episode 1. In episode 2 they used the Combat! theme and after that they used the theme from Thunderbirds.

Thanks for clearing that up. I completely missed the second "Boulder Dash" from the specials.

As for Ultraman, similar to Enter the Dragon, if the remix was never released elsewhere I'll need to look into something similar to Wipe Out. (Which still isn't complete. Can't afford to sample it yet which would take the guy a while. Especially since he'd be recording the guitar part with his own guitar, similar to the TC original which was mostly synths except that.)

How did you go about designating a game a BGM that was duplicated in another? Did you choose the most frequent game of the two? The way I'm ordering these tracks is choosing music in order of appearance in the UK series.

So was the didgeridoo only playing in the background of Dragon Lake and Skipping Stones? Then disco music in the Square Maze?

I need to get back to actually watching these episodes occasionally emoticon

You'll probably only thoroughly enjoy Takeshi's Castle's music if you're a big fan of instrumental music in the first place. If you love soundtracks—especially inclusive of films, anime and video games—you'll be a fan of this!

However, if this kind of music never really appealed to you, you're less likely to notice it. (Especially given its lower volume when Craig is talking!) I have hundreds of soundtracks and gathering TC's in CD quality is something I've wanted to do for many years.

I don't know a lot of it though. That which I already knew had already been identified by others, and much of it is obscure or exclusive to Japan. Since I don't care much for the source material of most of the music, to me it's TC's music. emoticon

I would go with the game that was played more often so I went with Hands Down for the Sky Kid music because Die or Pie was only played once. If the ammount tied then I tried to pick a game that was more original. So the GAnbare Kickers song was used in both Catch It (Nets) and Footloose but because Footloose was a more unique game I went with that.

That's true - I quite like some of the songs, but there're others I haven't even noticed being there at all emoticon

You're doing a great job, anyway!

Re: BGM Replication Project

I've got a few CDs/vinyls from Japan which I haven't ripped yet. Basically, the status is that a little over half is done. It will probably come on two CDs.

However, in my absence and having to focus on other projects I haven't worked on this for a while now. Hell, I'd like to but these vinyls and CDs can be expensive.

Progress will probably resume after Christmas.

And thank you too. emoticon Takeshi's Castle is the only game show I know with a soundtrack so enjoyable.

The fact we never got an OST is so disappointing. emoticon

Ah well, hopefully I can rectify that. emoticon
