Thanks for the feedback! emoticon It's appreciated as none of my friends are keshi heads, so I don't really get to talk about these things. emoticon Such is life!

I understand! Though I still don't know how to differentiate one BGM from another emoticon I am a bit tone-deaf though!

Velcro Fly sounds great, they’ve done an awesome job!
This project also sounds really cool - a huge undertaking, but brilliant emoticon

Yeah, it's taking plenty of time and money but I'm always excited about it. If you liked Velcro Fly you'll love Rice Bowl Down Hill which is also complete. Like I said though, I'm gonna halt distribution until it's done.

I must admit, I feel a bit on the fence about some of the tracks that are only played once (in the case of one-off games) but I'm a man of my word! emoticon

I want to make an album for myself (and for anyone else who wants to make one with the files) when it's done with the front cover being a booklet containing game information for every track. So let me know if you'll be able to help out with trivia facts to put in it when the time comes.

I can help with that. I have a spreadsheet with information about all the tracks we've discovered. It's got the date the song was first used on the show, the date it was discovered, who discovered it, the composer and when the game premiered.

That would be perfect. Thanks.

Something else that just came to mind...
By any chance do any of you have a higher-quality version of the UK themes? I converted some MP3s of the opening for the start of the album and an intermission used between games that'll be placed in the middle perhaps. However, the quality's pretty sub-par. I guess I'm not really expecting much of a result here since the only 'release' you'll usually find online ([sign in to see URL]) has bad AAC audio.

Since this is less than thirty seconds of music it's not a huge deal. Just thought I'd ask in case somebody somehow has it at a higher quality. emoticon

Re: BGM Replication Project

Even though this doesn't relate to the replication part of the thread, I've got another BGM for the album here which I'm sharing because it's my first time doing this type of thing... and it's frustrating!

I'll explain, and apologies for the ~30MB file size. Figured I'd share a WAV instead of a FLAC as not all of you will have a FLAC media player. So anyway, I got my Olympics vinyl that came from Greece today and finally put my USB vinyl recorder to use.

It took a few attempts for a recording I was satisfied with. And for a couple of hours it was bugging the hell out of me. I couldn't quite put my finger on what was wrong. I suppose that wasn't entirely a bad thing as it sent me on a journey to find out how to clean a vinyl recording well which has helped. Eventually I found out it wasn't recording the bass properly, so I used an equaliser for a bass boost.

It sounds pretty good. At least it's good enough for me. Could it be better? More than likely. Is it better than what you can find on YouTube? By a mile. Am I prepared to spend hundreds of dollars on a better turntable only to record a few songs? Hell no! emoticon

Here's my standard procedure when it comes to BGM...

1. Is it available on CD?
If yes, proceed to the next step
If no, proceed to step 3.

2. Is it too expensive on CD?
If yes, proceed to the next step
If no, buy CD

3. Is it available on vinyl and costs less than $50?
If yes, buy vinyl
If no, proceed to the next step

4. Buggered

If at all possible I will choose CD over vinyl. I've never liked vinyl, and the way I see things it's quite literally a masochist's format when a CD is available instead because vinyls are a pain in the neck!

I spent some hours researching the differences between CD and vinyl. Obviously, CD is digital and vinyl is analogue. That alone makes CD far less error-prone than vinyl. Even with an entry-level drive your CD rips will be great unless you've badly dirtied the disc. As a format though, if the comparisons I read by an audio engineer were anything to go by CD is just superior.

People latch onto vinyl for nostalgic reasons, and younger generations do it because it's hip. I'm glad I was born in the late '80s and grew up with CDs and don't don a fedora.

Glad I got that rant out of my system, lol.

Do they listen to them while using a fedora, playing Fortnite and looking at memes? emoticon

Sorry, I'm just sick of my own generation emoticon
