Re: Takeshi's Castle Indonesia: Episode 20 (15th August)

See, this is what I mean; they've uploaded about 15 clips to Youtube but none are of the potential Mud Ball emoticon There is a video on the playlist that says 'Deleted Video', maybe that was Mud Ball and they're trying to troll us emoticon

So, since we couldn't see it, this episode was kind of a downer to end on. It was all of the same games in episodes 1-9, which they tired us with already. I actually think this may be the first one filmed for two reasons: (1) the stones in Skipping Stones are round and almost underwater, (2) Matt was wearing a different outfit that we only saw this time in Wipeout and it looks boring so they could've replaced it after this one and (3) the episode as a whole felt quite off and not up to par. Maybe the jumping into the mud-pit I've seen was some prototype that they swiftly ditched after this episode?

I wonder if they never planned on showing this episode, but decided to round-out the first series to an even 20 at the last minute. Surprising that they did 10 episodes with the original game-groups and then 10 episodes with the new games. Watching this, I can really see how much it improved since around episode 10. Variety-wise too!

It's no shock that they left out Mushroom Trip, Honeycomb Maze, Final Fall and the Show Down. But it's interesting that Skittles and Wipe Out got a bit more attention in this week's uploads. And of course Skipping Stones couldn't share the spotlight too much emoticon

I will make the guide, but it's annoying because I could be leaving a new game off the list! Well I haven't seen any softballs or something so I'll just completely leave it off.

I think I've cracked it!

What I was calling the Mud Ball area was just a strip of mud-pit behind the Skipping Stones area that continues on past the finish platform. So when I saw someone jump from the red platform into the mud, it was probably someone who'd crossed Skipping Stones and took a victory-dive into the slurry. I'd guess they wanted the platform to lead to land so that's why the mud-pit is only seen in this one.

Sorry for getting everyone excited about that, but you see my point, right?

And I've noticed that the Slippery Wall wall was not that shiny-green, like it is now, for this episode.

Both of these observations point to this being the first episode ever taped.. or I hope it's not a preview to a low-quality season 2 emoticon

From the looks of it I reckon you're right, and this was recorded ages ago. The Mushroom Trip mat isn't blue either, so this was before they changed it.

The Stones looks so much better lower down in the water, I wish they'd kept it like that.

Well it was probably only December, but yes, still it's (likely) the first. And the Mushroom Trip mats are always red for Skittles episodes (and always blue for Blueberry Hill).

I disagree about that, though. Let's break it down.

We all agree that version 1.0 where you could see the poles the stones were on sticking out of the water was the worst. Then I'd say they overcompensated with these. They're just barely above water and the tops of them get covered in water, making it too slippery and unnecessarily difficult. Not to mention, these stones are much more rounded on top. People would end up stepping slowly across the tops everytime rather than the mix we have with the current version. It doesn't look as good as the version they have now either IMO.

Don't ban me! emoticon
