Obstacle Designs
I feel like I should make a dedicated thread for obstacles I come up with, rather than lumping them in with the ANW and ninja training topics. So, I'll post my ideas for this year's ANW topic as designed. Forgot to say it, but even though my idea that was listed as Editor's Pick last year wasn't used on the show, one of my other ideas was!!! The Swivel Cliffs (renamed the Nail Clipper) were used in Cleveland Finals and Stage 3 of Vegas. Sounds really cool but it's not like a notification is required or something
Anyway, here are my two ideas so far:
Basically parts of the Devil Steps mixed in with a wheel that has steps on it that you have to roll along a track, sort of like Rolling Thunder.
Naturally the second regional obstacle, competitors must hold onto two nunchucks as they slide down a track with two drops and then must land themselves between two narrow spider walls and then dismount to the landing-pad.
Both of them were B-listed though so have to keep trying!

Re: Obstacle Designs
A couple of Monkey Peg/Floating Pegboard variation ideas:
Perpetual Pegs:
This is a series of three separate pegboards which freely slide along a track.
Competitors begin by jumping from a mini-tramp to a trapeze. Next they must make a transition from the swinging trapeze to two wooden pegs in a pegboard. They must work through this board by fitting the pegs into holes in the board. Competitors will have to use the sliding function of the board to reach the second pegboard. They must make a similar transition to the third board and then try to navigate a dismount as the board slides on the track.
Puzzle Pegs:
Here are five small separate pegboards, shaped like puzzle-pieces. Another puzzle is hidden within the obstacle in that there are six pegs of different shapes (two circles, two squares and two triangles), which competitors must utilize in any way they can to clear the obstacle. The puzzle-pieces were made so ninjas can not simply cross using one shape of peg, but must go back and forth to make progress using all of the shapes. Some pieces have no holes for a certain peg-shape. The pegs themselves are all round, however their ends can be circular, triangular or square.

Re: Obstacle Designs
They're hard (maybe), but not impossible. I've done pegboard laps and this is similar - going back and forth to move the boards. It just adds a bit of a mental-element to it.
I'm currently trying to think-up a unique downward pegboard-obstacle so it can be named "Take it Down a Peg"

Re: Obstacle Designs
That's what I do!
..And could also be why you think my obstacles are too hard

Re: Obstacle Designs
Figured I'd move this here, since we now have a dedicated Ninja Warrior section!
Here are the two ideas I've submitted (so far):
This one is pretty simple. It's basically three stars of increasing height, which each have a trapeze bar attached to one point. Contestants will jump up to grab the first bar and must use momentum to jump to the second spinning star. They then must repeat this to reach the third star and dismount at the platform.
I don't like this idea very much, but I was thinking in the vein of things like the Spinning Bowties - something that would be cool visually might attract attention?
My next one also lacks creativity in the normal way, but makes-up for it in having a common theme:
https://ibb.co/m92d8V8 (sorry for the link, Photobucket is a )
Competitors start on the platform and grab the first of three doorknobs. They must swing from knob to knob, made harder by the fact that the middle doorknob spins freely. From here, the contestant must transfer to a hinged door. This door functions in the same way as any door in a house, and contestants must hang on to the top of it and get it to rotate about 180 degrees to reach the next part. The door does not lock into place. From here, competitors must transition to the 'Crazy Clock' and throw the arms of the clock to the opposite side, as usual. From here, competitors must dismount to a wall that is slightly higher than the clock. Skilled competitors may be able to simply grab the top, but a rope hangs down from the wall for anyone wishing to play it safer.
I will think of a couple more original concepts soon...

Re: Obstacle Designs
I find it stupid. I can not view the second idea hardly o. The description sounds crappy. I find that crappy a little. I picture that my husband would fall off of the moving door. I find that hilarious to imagine.
