American Ninja Warrior Episode Guide

This is an episode guide for American Ninja Warrior - the exact definition of a work in progress - for anyone interested. It'll list the obstacles seen in every episode and important results in each.

The idea here is to compose a comprehensive, accurate guide for anyone interested.

Please don't post in this topic, unless you'd like to add an episode! So I have to ask that you only post if you have content to add, rather than a comment. If you'd like to comment, please post it in the official ANW thread or create your own. Thank you! emoticon

Season 1, Episode 1

"Qualifying Round"

Location: Los Angeles, California

This episode was the first of three qualifying shows. Hundreds of competitors would show up to try to tackle a six-obstacle qualifying course with only the top thirty performances moving forward. This means that even competitors who clear the course aren't safe unless they put up a strong finishing-time.

Obstacles:

Quintuple Steps (five slanted steps on alternating sides of the pool leading to a sloped landing platform)
Rope Swing (use a rope to swing from a higher platform to a lower one; the rope will drag in the water)
Rolling Barrel (run across a wide barrel that freely rolls)
Spider Jump (jump from a trampoline and stick yourself between two parallel walls, then navigate across)
Pipe Slider (maneuver a pipe down two parallel rails, which both have three drops that'll jar one's grip)
Warped Wall (run up a curved track, grab a ledge on the top and hit the buzzer)

Original Airdate: December 12th, 2009

Season 1, Episode 6

"Training Challenge"

Location: Los Angeles, California

This episode features two different strength and endurance challenges setup by two former-Olympian athletes. Three competitors run side-by-side at the same time in these challenges, with each challenge having five rounds for the 15 competitors left. Competitors are timed in each challenge, with their times on both challenges, combined. At the end, the ten athletes with the lowest combined times qualify to compete in Sasuke 23.

Challenges:

Bungee Cinderstack (Contestants each start with 10 of their own cinder-blocks next to them. Their goal is to stack these blocks into a pyramid-like shape, in a designated area that's 50 feet away. They must carry blocks across these 50 feet and place them down to form their pyramid. However, each competitor has a strong bungee-cord attached to them that make running progressively harder, the closer they get to their pyramid stack. Contestants can take as few or as many trips as needed to complete the pyramid, but they have to keep their time in mind)

Beach Obstacle Course (Contenders must cross what resembles an army assault-course and consists of three obstacles. First, they must army-crawl under a long cargo-net, stretched over the sand (Cargo Crawl). Next the contestants must run across a rounded, log balance-beam, while carrying a heavy barrel with them (Double Gallon Log). Finally, the contestants have to run through 12 tires, stepping one foot in each (Twelve Tires). Now, they must cross the finish-line to stop their clock)

Original Airdate: December 19th, 2009

Best Overall Time: Brian Orosco's 1:53.00

Cut-off: Rick Huelga's 2:29.00
