Takeshi's Castle Thailand Episode Summaries

In case you wanted to join in (.. emoticon ) I'm going to start summarizing the episodes of TCT using episode topics, our variation guides and memory (mostly the first two emoticon). Just because it's handy to have and I know if I stumbled upon TCT after it was taken down, I'd want an idea of what it had!

Starting with episode 1: The episode opens with the story of a princess's kidnapping with drawings shown along with it. Then there is a very long beginning before the first game, introducing Shakrit, Takeshi, Bon, Khom, Woonsen, Fern (somersalting into the castle) and Plakung. Plakung is shown to be firmly on General Shakrit's side, while Ninja Fern is employed by Takeshi, but secretly tries to help General Shakrit because she likes him. However, she knows that if she helps Shakrit too much, she will reunite him with his wife Princess Woonsen. There are then a few shots of the beach and interviews with a couple contestants. After 13 minutes of introduction the team of 100 try to climb the Slippery Wall against the hoses being sprayed at them by the Citrine Guards. A bunch of them slip down at first, but some get up to the top and sit to help others up. When the whistle is blown, 79 contestants remain in the game. A few interviews are done, including with an American contestant. There is then a cut to the castle where the guests, both "game engineers" (Zeab Chernyim and Namwan Pimmara Charoenpukdi) are introduced. More interviews are done before Knock Knock including one with a Canadian competitor. The next game is Knock Knock II, and after a pledge to do their best, contestants must run through the doors and collect one of the weapons such as guns and knives that are buried in the sand pit at the end. When the first contestants reach this sand pit Princess Woonsen says "Yay!". The game is over within three minutes. Several interviews are done with contestants and their weapons, with only 61 left in contention. There is then a cut to the castle and a sketch featuring guest Jeab Chernyim is done where eggs and then watermelons are thrown at him while he stands in front of a wall. A giant boulder is rolled at him, linking to the next game, Avalanche. In this outing, the guards did not push contestants out of the slots so the game went on for awhile per each run. Most contestants are eliminated by carelessness in this game, and some get hit with boulders but are allowed to go on. Now only 50 contestants remain. The next game is Sumo Rings, where a Citrine Guard acts as the judge, and the wrestlers are Giant Jumbo, Pauline Monroe, Bruce Laos, Spud and Candy May. A fight with Giant Jumbo is shown first, then a fight with Pauline, then Bruce, then Pauline then Bruce. This is a very fast game even with interviews added in, and 38 are left afterward. Honeycomb Maze is the last game played, and a winning contestant pulls himself up on a door to the top of the Maze and manages to clear the game by running on the top beams and then jumping down to the finish platform, while another manages to quickly dash out without being caught. Citrine Guards stand in front of some of the doors that do not open. Only 18 are left after Honeycomb Maze to go on and play Final Fall. In this game, guards are utilized to trick contestants. The Citrine Guards tell some contestants not to go in the bad holes, using reverse-psychology. Then they chase other contestants into the bad holes. The guards this week are pirates, complete with eye-patches, but only two are eliminated. There are still 16 left to try and defeat Takeshi in the Show Down, meaning they have to take three carts away from Takeshi's side. There are three Dolls in the head Show Down cart. The contestants begin to attack this cart rather quickly and with strength in numbers, manage to win the episode and a million Baht. There is then a cut to everyone except for the princess remorsing in the castle and then the contestants and Shakrit are shown celebrating holding a giant check. The credits are then played with the Fighting Spirit Award winners played on the side.

I know - join in whenever you feel like it emoticon

Episode 2: The episode opens with the story of Princess Woonsen's kidnapping with drawings shown along with it. There is then a cut to the castle where Shogun Takeshi has stolen Princess Woonsen's chalkboard tablet, but then Woonsen outsmarts him and steals it back. After this scene the guests, a prince and his servant (Mik Thongraya and Tuitui Puttachat Pongsuchat) are introduced to the castle. Then the first game begins and the 100 contestants run at the Slippery Wall. To increase difficulty, besides being sprayed with hoses, water balloons are also thrown at the players. People still manage to grab the rope and pull themselves over relatively quickly, but one woman is very scared to slide down from the top and someone must help her. 80 competitors manage to slip over the wall and move onto Knock Knock II. The contestants must dig out keys from the sand pit, but there are only 60 buried inside so there is a limit to how many my move onto the next game. There is also a Strongman between walls that will chase contestants around to change difficulty and nets and mud pits have been added behind the doors. The remaining 60 all move onto Sumo Rings, where there are the same opponents as last week (Giant Jumbo, Pauline Monroe, Bruce Ling, Spud and Candy May) and the judge is still a Citrine Guard. Bruce Laos' name was changed to Bruce Ling due to complaints about the name. There are more fights shown, with every wrestler being shown in a fight at least once. Spud ends up victorious in his fight and after two losses in a row, Bruce Ling manages to pull a win out of the third - although still rolls on the floor pretending to be knocked out three times. 49 fighters move onto Mushroom Trip. The mushroom does not spin very much, and few fall after being twisted off the mushroom. Most of the splashes are caused by contestants not being able to get any grip on the mushroom, falling off immediately into the safety net or mistiming their landing on the floating goal. Only eight are knocked out at this stage and 41 move onto the Honeycomb Maze. This time there are lots of fights between the Maze guards and contestants and some end in victory for the contestants after they manage to run away. 32 move onto another new game, Berry Bayou. Berry Bayou is Bridge the Gap, but without the skull mats, with a long wobbly bridge that has four darumas to climb over using rope ladders over them and a two minute timer. The contestants must jump in the water to reach the game and then pull themselves up on a floating platform before their countdown begins. No contestants time out, but there are still quite a few failures, including someone who misses the landing platform dismount and tumbles into the water. 22 move onto Final Fall and ten more are eliminated here, including a man who tries to figure out which holes have guards inside, based on their growling noises, but still chooses the wrong one. In the Show Down, the contestants have to steal a cart from Shogun Takeshi's side, due to a high number of people making it, and with this they are able to knock out some guard carts and surround Takeshi. They then proceed to shoot his ring out and win the episode and a million Baht. Takeshi and co are then shown kicking themselves in a pop-up box, while the army and their General take a picture holding a giant check. The credits roll with the Fighting Spirit Award winners played to the side.

Episode 3: The episode opens with the story of Princess Woonsen's kidnapping with drawings shown along with it. There is then a cut to the castle where the guests, an astrologer and a medium (Pang Prakasit Bosuwan and Rotmay Kaneungnij Jaksamittanon). After a few minutes of talking in the castle, there is a cut to the beach where the crew are introduced. Today Fern brought a blanket to hide behind, to help her perfect her ninja skills, after this is shown the 102 warriors take on Knock Knock II as their first game. To change up the gameplay, the sandpit at the end has been emptied and filled with mud, and two mud-pits behind the doors have transformed into ice-pits. Also, hidden inside the ending mud-pit are coins instead of keys, which the contestants must collect. Many contestants purposefully dodge the ice-pits, but there are a lot of competitors running at full tilt and slipping on the ice and mud. At the end of the game 82 contestants make it into Avalanche. First though, there is a brief castle segment with the cast talking. Woonsen has made friends with guest Rotmay Kaneungnij Jaksamittanon, and they share their chalkboard tablet together. After that, Avalanche starts fairly quickly, and this time has guards in the nooks of the incline and water poured down the lane. The guards usually waited a few seconds before trying to push contestants out of the gaps, but they did still manage to defeat most contestants, and even themselves as one guard fell into the lane and got hit from behind with a boulder. Making it to Velcro Fly are 69 plucky players. The rope is hung at such a length that it is nearly impossible to avoid hitting the water. Most contestants either swing and crash into the water or let go of the rope. Two contestants make it to the board but only one sticks, making Shakrit celebrate after almost losing hope. 48 clear this game and move into Mushroom Trip. The mushroom spins slightly faster this time, but most of the wipeouts are still caused by a misjudged dismount. One memorable Mushroom Trip run in this episode was a woman trying to hold onto the mushroom, failing and just jumping into the safety net, with a Citrine Guard getting her back onto the platform. Fern is not happy with her in the interview. At the end of the round, 37 remain to play Honeycomb Maze. There are Citrine Guards standing in certain rooms who are armed with musical instruments, such as cymbals and rubber chickens, to make noise with when a contestant enters the room they're in, surprising the contestant and alerting the Honeycomb Maze Guards of what room players are in. The landing platform has also been moved up a room to throw contestants off. Non-usable doors in the back of the Maze have also been removed. One memorable run in this episode was a contestant who ran into the wall, thinking it was an entry door, but promptly finding an exit door into the drink. 28 move onto Tug of War, where the contestants will face off against one of five options (Manly Man, Sky Flyer, Ms. Sunshine, three Mians or an elephant). The side the contestants stand on is significantly muddier than the side the opponents have. This is also the only outing for Tug of War to have mats where the guards stand - most likely to make up for the solid ground they're standing on. Contestants did get very muddy, however. One contestant who had to face off against the elephant was slid through the mud on his stomach and was covered at the end. 18 contestants are left for Final Fall, and this week two demons, known as the Dancing Demons are hiding down the holes. A whopping 11 are eliminated in Final Fall and a less whopping seven have made it into the Show Down. As there is an odd number number of contestants in the Show Down, Plakung drives a cart so the single contestant is not alone. Again, the contestants quickly figure out to trap the Shogun's cart and burst his paper ring, leading to a third win and the team of seven splitting a million Baht. Fern tries to hide herself, Woonsen and The Shogun with her blanket, but ends up having to run away. Shakrit and the contestants are then shown celebrating, holding a giant check and then the credits begin to roll, with the Fighting Spirit Awards shown to the side of them.

Re: Takeshi's Castle Thailand Episode Summaries

Just realized episodes 1 and 3 are already up on Youtube emoticon emoticon Oh well, will feel more complete not skipping those!! emoticon

Episode 4: The episode opens with the story of Princess Woonsen's kidnapping with drawings shown along with it. There is then a cut to the beach where the crew are all present. The episode is opened as usual, and the contestants are all shown running through the water to get to Shakrit, Fern and Plakung. There is then a cut to the castle, where the guests a pirate and his wife (Jingjok Somjet Payakso and Grace Karnklao Duaysianklao) are introduced. Then Takeshi and company talk for a minute before returning to the beach, where the 100 challengers are preparing to try and climb the Slippery Wall. This week to make it more difficult, along with the hoses, guards sit at the top and squirt tomato sauce at contestants. The tomato sauce does not have much effect on the contestants, but only 78 move onto the next game. The next game is Sumo Rings and Fern acts as the judge this week. Before the game, a comedic scene is shown of Shakrit and Plakung thinking Fern looks familiar but not being able to place where they know her from. The game then begins with five wrestlers as always. The wrestlers are Giant Jumbo, Pauline, Bruce, an American man (nicknamed "The Foreigner") and a fat kid (nicknamed "Swelly Belly"). After a contestant lost a fight against The Foreigner, Fern talked to him and said that her having a crush on him is okay. In exact words, she said "IT'S NOT A PROBLEM, HE SAY IT'S NOT A PROBLEM!" Giant Jumbo was also beaten again by getting knocked out of the ring in this outing. At the end of the game, three fights in a row are shown of Swelly Belly, with him losing the first two, but managing to slowly push the third contestant out of the ring and win. 61 contestants are left to move onto Mushroom Trip. It's raining though, making holding onto the mushroom much more difficult. The first contestant slips while running up to the mushroom, and once he gets to it, he only hangs on for a second and tumbles right off into the safety net. There are more falls in the middle of the lake today due to the rain making everything slippy and the mushroom being twisted up more. From here, 52 move onto Berry Bayou, where the rain had halted, but the ground was still slippery making the course that much more treacherous. Once again, the first contestant slips while running up to the obstacle, and this time the contestant is in front of a staircase to the berry bridge and falls into the handrail with one leg on either side. Only two contestants make it, with the others falling off the berry bridge or the rotating bridges, such as one man who had the finish line in sight, but couldn't climb to the platform and fell downward headfirst. 43 contestants move onto Honeycomb Maze, where, as a similar twist to the musical instruments, the three mians hide behind doors in different rooms and scream when a contestant enters to surprise them and alert the guards of their location. The mians often got crushed behind the doors, when contestants were running to escape the clutches of the guards. One contestant ran fast enough to make it to the goal mat. 35 move onto their last main game, Bridge Ball. The golden ball is shot to the contestants right away and there is only one cannon to shoot balls at the contestants from. Even though the bridge is wider than it was on Takeshi's Castle in Japan, it is more wobbly, providing for a similar success rate. One contestant decided to keep the golden ball in his shirt so he could balance with his arms, instead of hold the ball. For Final Fall, there are 22 contenders left and the majority of them fall victim to the two vampires hiding down the bad holes, and 10 are remaining for the Show Down. The contestants put up a fight, and the battle takes a couple of minutes but in the end, Shakrit's army lost for the first time and the prize is rolled over to 2 million Baht. To the side of the credits, clips are played of the Fighting Spirit Award winners in their respective game.

Re: Takeshi's Castle Thailand Episode Summaries

Sorry for the break, but now have the time to review episode 5.

Episode 5: The episode opens with the story of Princess Woonsen's kidnapping with drawings shown along with it. There is then a cut to the castle where the cast talk for a few minutes before the first game. There is then a cut to the field, where the contestants are coming out from the ocean, but stumbling around like hungry zombies, due to a hypnotism spell cast on them by Fern. The contestants are prepped and then run to play the starting game, Bite the Bun. Some of the foods hanging from ropes in this edition are apples, bananas, chicken and fish. Shorter contestants will have to use teamwork if they're too slow to get a food item, because the foods are hanging from three different heights. A memorable moment from this game was when a contestant was trying their hardest to bite a banana off the string, but only smooshed it up all over the place. 80 contestants moved onto Avalanche. There is then a cut to the castle where the guests, the "Father of Religion" and a Monk (Suthep Phongam and Supathat Opas (kid)) are introduced. Many contestants struggled to avoid the boulders - especially the smaller ones, and got crushed and eliminated. Only 65 move onto Velcro Fly. This time Velcro Fly has had a few adjustments made to it, with the rope being made shorter, a trapeze bar added on the end of the rope, the board being placed at a less steep angle and a plank added to reach the modified shorter rope. Many contestants still couldn't reach the velcro board, with the downward momentum being too much to handle. Still though, a select few did hit it, with two out of three of those sticking it, and one hitting it with their side, and not catching the velcro on it. From here, 51 contenders make it to Knock Knock I. The contestants are also attacked by the Boxing Monster behind the first wall, but he is only around for the first contestant. One male contestant gets a kiss from Shakrit, and a girl wearing a dress under her lifejacket manages to win the game, albeit tripping near the end. 39 contestants moved onto the next game, Sumo Rings. The wrestlers in this outing of Sumo Rings are Giant Jumbo, Pauline, Bruce, a strong woman and Candy Bell. Fern is the referee again and judges several fights. As usual, Bruce proves an easy target as well as Candy Bell. The strong woman is easier to beat than Giant Jumbo or Pauline, but still puts up a fight. Remaining for Honeycomb Maze are 27 contestants. This time in the Honeycomb Maze, Sky Flyer is inside one of the lower rooms, dressed as a baby, to distract and confuse the contestants. Only 15 contestants make it out of the Maze and through to play Final Fall. In this edition of Final Fall, the Dancing Demons have returned, and guards chase contestants into bad holes. Every time someone makes it through the game under the guard's watch, they'll be switched out for a different guard. The Honeycomb Maze guards, Giant Jumbo and the Mians. Despite all the chasers, only five are eliminated here, and 10 move onto the Show Down. The water the carts shoot has been color-coded, with the contestants' carts shooting red water, and the guards' carts shooting green water. The contestants manage to surround Takeshi and shoot his ring out very quickly, resulting in the contestants winning the show and splitting 2 million Baht. The contestants are then shown celebrating, holding a giant check worth 2-million Baht. The credits are then shown, with the Fighting Spirit Award winners, and the clips of them and their award-winning performances is featured to the side of them, individually.

Nice summaries.

If I can offer some advice; I think separating into paragraphs by game will help with reading. It is a little hard when it's all a massive chunk. Sorry, but I've been critiqued with that too.

Cheers!
