Yagi was only 22 obstacles away from winning emoticon

But Mr. Handball didn't even need the bar! Now the Rolling Escargot. Held up and then falls off trying to get it rolling again.

Aw, he failed the Jumping Spider.

Now Daisuke can tackle the Jumping Spider. Yes!! Halfpipe attack clear!

Warped Wall, check.

Giant Swing, check.

Final Climb, noooo!

He stalled around a bit too much.

Kong is also out.

Ishikawa... whoa almost falls off the Rolling Escargot! But now through to the Warped Wall! And up it on his first try. Giant Swing time and he's to the cargo net! Looks like he'll be the first through the course. Onto the Final Climb! And he slams the buzzer!

25 seconds left for the Final Climb, and he's just clear!

Done for now.

Sasuke has been renewed for Competition 33!! emoticon

http://www.tbs.co.jp/sasuke_rising/

This early it's a bit surprising. Some Maniac posters think this might be a biannual thing again.. emoticon Two competitions yearly seems just right to me.

Re: Sasuke General Chat Topic

So this is filming on the 11th (and probably the 12th if there're 2nd Stage clears)!

I'll place a couple of bets on clear numbers while I can't be accused of cheating!

Seeing that only eight cleared the 1st Stage last time, and it was a renewal tournament, I don't expect any major changes here. I think the Music Box might be replaced with another rolling log-type thing. The time-limit might be reduced by 5-10 seconds, but not enough to really be threatening. With this in mind, and knowing that the rain affected some of the better competitors at the end of Stage 1 in 32, I'd say it's likely that 13 will clear.

I think the 2nd Stage will be seeing a heavy revamp. The fact that no one failed it last competition must mean that this is where attention has been spent this year. I expect the Cross Slider and Spider Walk will be eliminated, while the Backstream and Reverse Conveyer will see a good increase in current/speed. I expect a new Salmon Ladder variation and the Wall Lift will remain the same. Six people will likely clear.

The 3rd Stage was so deadly last time that I don't expect or require much to change. The Drum Hopper and Sidewinder might be scrapped altogether for some new thing requiring more grip-strength. The Ultra Crazy Cliffhanger into Vertical Limit 2.0 will likely remain as the ultimate challenge. I see a couple more people reaching the Vertical Limit 2.0 bit (Drew again, Morimoto and possibly some other athlete), but no one clearing it.

The Final Stage will remain the same but also remain untouched.

Re: Sasuke General Chat Topic

I got to watch the full Sasuke 33 on Youtube (won't post the video here because it'll be removed by the time I post emoticon ).

Looking back at my guesses I was actually pretty dang close! I guessed the exact number on the First Stage and I wasone off on Second Stage clears. I was alsocorrect on my Third Stage prediction.

Starting from the top, I don't remember any women competing so I'm guessing that they edited them all our like they did last tournament. At this point, just have only men honestly. Hopefully they do start showing women again, as that's certainly the best solution.. emoticon The comedians doing well was a (pleasant) surprise.

Overall, the tournament was full of surprises and results that never seemed like they'd happen. Take Takeda clearing the First Stage or Darvish failing at the very top of the Lumberjack Climb (man that was close!) for example.

The time-limit they put on the First Stage seemedpretty leniant, but it was fine. I don't know where they pulled128 seconds from though! emoticon The Quad Step plus Rolling Hill combo did much more damage than last time. What happened Yuuji and Wreathman?! emoticon The Tie Fighter and Double Pendulum are still doling out enough falls and funny moments to not ware-out there welcome just yet. I still think the Tackle and Warped Wall duo is a good idea, but people are getting used to it. The Lumberjack Climb (as stated in other whitened text) caused a huge upset for Darvish and that helped keep it fresh. I did feel bad though. The Fish Bone is the new obstacle and although it wasn't nearly as brutal as I expected it still did some good damage. The Youtube video I was watching annoyingly had the stream freeze as it happened but I saw enough to see howincredibly close Yusuke cut it on this. I was also very impressed with theguy who caught the Double Pendulm's trapeze with one hand, swung to the punching bag and then landed a twisting dismount and was alright emoticon emoticon Overall, my main problem here is thetime-limit, but even that's not too serious. I would possibly swap out thefirst two obstacles, in favor of a newstarting combo as I like the idea, but then again it still did eliminate several greats.

Stage 2 certainly didn't have a 100-percent clearrate this time! The Salmon Ladder Kudari and Salmon Ladder Nobori have suddenly become a problem for the competitors! And Takeda is keeping his perfect attendance of failing each Salmon Ladderm record alive (well if you want to be super technical hehasn't failed the Salmon Ladder Nobori yet but you know...). The Reverse Conveyer was the other out-of-the-blue threat for this Stage. I think the water from the Backstream had much to do with this as theyslipped around, but it was there last time and this didn't happen emoticon The Backstream seems to havetaken a backseat to some of the other obstacles The Ring Slider was this Stage's new obstacle and it was basicallyKunoichi's Slide Walk (which has a name that makes me think of Bruiseball from Wipeout emoticon ), without rings to put your feet through. So you had to hang and manuever the rings over the bumps while using up your upperbody-strength.

The Third Stage had a bloodbath going on at the Flying Bar. I have to speculate thatthe really bright lighting around that area and the weird things coming down from the bar holders played a role in this. I did like the jump from the last part of Flying Bar to first pole of the Sidewinder R as it certainly has potential foreliminations of contestants without the right technique. The Sidewinder R itself (and the Drum Hopper) both are enjoyable to watch, but literally never eliminate anyone!! So Drew is once again Last Man Standing. He didn't make it as far as he did last time, but he still did a great job. And hey we got to see the timing element of the Ultra Crazy Cliffhanger come into play which was good. I would certainly leave the stretch of Ultra Crazy Cliffhanger > Vertical Limit 3.0 > Pipe Slider until we get get some through this stage, but then I would like to see something new, possiblyanother combo. I can already see the number of obstacles that have a platform before them being lowered. Resting platforms are so five tournaments ago! emoticon

Would love to see the Final Stage, but I'll have to wait!

This tournament was pretty good. It had lots ofsurprises and all, but for some reason it didn't feel very memorable to mefor some reason it didn't feel very memorable to me. I did enjoy it thoroughly though emoticon

Thanks for reading!

Oh yeah and did I mention?..:

SASUKE 34 is being filmed sometime this Summer in the later months!! emoticon
