Sasuke General Chat Topic Here's our place to chat about Ninja Warrior (and Viking and Banzuke if there's anything to say!). I'll start by posting the Youtube version of NW 32 (sorry it's not full-screen, there was one but it got removed ):
Spoilers in white (highlight to read).
No Yusuke!!! Apparently he had to finish school or something. After there was a winner they switched back to v2 of stage 4 although no one got far enough to see it!
They also knicked the Tic Toc from America (not sure how as they filmed this before they showed it over here ), which knocked out a few and broke a few other's backs :0The Quad Steps into Rolling Hill were interesting. Shouldn't have put the pad though as it tripped people - I guess they didn't want people smashing their faces into the first roller! Sliding Jumping Spider was interesting although copyright city It didn't cause any unfair falls either, as I expected it would.
Stage 2 took a classic turn with the Spider Walk and Reverse Conveyer. Maybe a bit too classic because no one fell!! Well, besides the Backstream stupid thing. It's so dumb that the whole idea is not touching the water and then all of a sudden you just have to jump into a pool
The bouncing and curving cliffs were crazy - although the former took no one out! So the furthest reached was the Vertical Limit I believe it went back to the Cliffhanger after that- although the former took no one out!- although the former took no one out!- although the former took no one out!
Brent did great! Too bad he can't do that well in America these days
Re: Sasuke General Chat Topic Spoilers from me too, though I've just spotted that the shade I used very faintly shows up in the wrong light. Watch out.
No Yusuke reminds me of the 5th tournament, when it was no Akiyama. Different atmosphere.
Only saw the stills of the obstacles from Arsenette. Haven't actually watched it. This is the last tournament she's covering, and that's quite timely, what with Nagano's retirement and all. Sniff. How will Jim react? He'll be devastated... I know we are at home.
Loved the TV special she covered as well, where the first stage was recreated in Mario Maker, and they got to choose whether to do each obstacle for real or in the Mario Maker version. And then they take the mick out of Katsumi as usual.
Somehow, they managed to get permission to call the Tie Fighter as such. How, I mean just HOW?!
That f-ing Backstream. Even if I was in any way strong enough to do something as punishing as a Sasuke course, I could never compete, because of that damn thing. Can't swim, you see. Scared of drowning, and seeing some competitors in past tournaments - to my mind - risking their lives in 'deadly' water - again to my mind - just to clear a stage made me feel very uncomfortable. I was also very cross with the implication in previous tournaments - or at least in Jim's script - that the ones who had to learn just so they could do the Backstream were being branded wusses just because they couldn't before. Not cool.
Very surprised to see obstacles returning all over the course. The Steps, Conveyor Belt, and Flying Bar. All amongst my favourites. Pleased to see that.
Stage 3... Mixed bag. It just wouldn't be Sasuke without the Pipe Slider to finish, would it? Like the little adjustments, though I was expecting the Sidewinder to not come back after everyone cleared it last time, rather than make the path through it harder. Meanwhile, just when you think they couldn't get anymore sadistic and mind-frying, you get The Ultra Crazy Cliffhanger. How will anyone ever get through Stage 3 again?
But just as I thought that, I got to the last still. Holy of Holies, the Final Stage. As if the traditional Spider Climb and Rope combo wasn't bad enough... then they go and put the FRICKIN' SALMON LADDER in between them! You absolute b******s!
Can't wait to see all that Jim-ified, along with 31 of course. May be a long wait, though.
Re: Sasuke General Chat Topic To American Sasuke fans: Good news! TBS and Esquire Network have struck a deal to air 26 original competitions and seven Kunos!
As I said in the other topic, cutting Kuno 8 (probably that one) was understandable, but why they're cutting one of the first 27 comps (I assume it's all the first 27 at least!) I don't know
Re: Sasuke General Chat Topic I'm assuming it's the G4 version, and they didn't show one of the competitions in full as they made it part of ANW, so I guess that's the one that's missing.
