Sounds like a great idea, thanks ( emoticon ), but I can't move my "boxes" and I have to hang my ropes from hooks so not sure I could arrange it right emoticon Worth a try though emoticon

Re: Messup's at Home Courses

Well I did this really simple course at school once. See if you can make any modifications.

Do a forward roll and stand up with your arms in front and legs slightly bent. (your hands can't touch the mat). Place your hands on the mat and jump as high as you can (but keep your hands on the mat, at school we call this the donkey kick) and stand up with your arms in front and legs slightly bent again. Do another forward roll and sit with legs straight in front and arms in the air (keep your legs together and your hands should face each other). Curl down the toes and then fall back so that you form a 90° angle but keep your legs and back off the ground. Hold for 2 seconds and fall back until your back is on the ground and stretch your legs up into the air (at school we call this the candlestick) and after 2 seconds bend your legs, put one hand on each, curl and stand up (again don't let your hands touch the ground) and place your arms straight in front and legs bent slightly. Form a T, then pull your arms back, bend your legs and jump (with arms up) and finally land with arms straight in front and legs bent slightly.

Maybe use bars when doing the final jump, replace a forward roll with rolling the excercise ball or something with the punching bag.

Grip 'N' Flip: Use some swinging grips (like the things you hold onto when standing in a moving bus) and grab a rope. Swing from it and land on some mats. Do a front flip and grip onto a bar. Then cross it, and (I don't know what to do here, maybe get on top of a rockwall) then do a back flip onto a mat. Finally, grip on to your 'cannonball' you mentioned before and swing onto a treadmill that's moving fast. Run on it for 5 seconds and you win!

Very nice mix, but I'm not good with flips and I'm not sure all those obstacles would line up (bar and rockwall not transportable emoticon

Well, you can swing ropes and climb without feet, learn to do a full backflip and frontflip because they're POSSIBLE to do and I know because Keshi-heads has seen it before.

I could climb rope without feet, but not backflip emoticon

Re: Messup's at Home Courses

Some new courses I've made:

Course #3 (Hand-Holds):

Tall Wall: I start on a step and must grab onto the pull-up bar over it and get enough momentum through one swing to leap over a mat stood on its side and land on a punching bag (placed sideways from where I was jumping).

The wall is a challenge because:

A. It can't be touched, meaning I have to jump high

B. It blocks my view of the punching bag until I'm over it so it's more of a blind leap.

One fail had me jump from the bar, land on the edge of the punching bag, get wobbled off, fall on my back and hit the mat behind me emoticon

(5 fails in all on it)

Ring Release: I must jump off the punching bag to a rope and climb it to reach a hanging ring that the rope is stuck through. While hanging, I must get the rope out of the ring so I can swing from the ring to a ranp. Then I must climb up it (it has rocks on it) to clear it. The stragey that is most likely to work - albeit slow - is to hold onto the ring with one hand and grab the top of the rope with the other, pulling it out through the ring. I could put both hands on the rope as well and then swing over to the ring - quicker but more risky.

Despite being by far the most exhausting, I didn't fail this obstacle, but had to put bother hands on the ring midway through for a quick rest.

(0 fails in all on it)

Hold n' Hang: I then must jump back off the platform to the ring, and pull myself up to reach a hanging handle that's mucheck higher up. Then transfer to a hanging nunchuck and finally to abother nunchuck, but twice as big, and drop down to a teeter totter to clear.

I only had to do this obstacle once, and was too pumped out to grab the second nunchuck so made an early dismount from the first.

(0 fails in all on it)

Course #4 (Rocking It):

Long Jump: I start by jumping onto a teeter-totter and having to leap seven feet to grab a ring and swing onto the rockwall. I must navigate the curve on the wall to make it to the platform.

A lot of fails were me falsely thinking I grazed the ground. I also missed the wall transfer a few times and slipped on the teeter once.

(9 fails in all on it)

Band Pull: I must grab one of those stretchy bands that you're supposed to pull (attached to my pull-up bar) and jump down onto a punching bag. The bag is placed long-ways so is thin but isn't easily overshot.

I didn't have many problems on it and if I have it again, I may move the bag further away or use a bigger band.

(0 fais on it in all)

Dangerous Dismount: I must jump from the punching bag onto a rope and climb it to reach two handles, hanging from hooks side-by-side and build up a swing to dismount over the blue mat, without over-shooting and crashing into the wall (automatic elimination).

This obstacle was also rather easy to complete. I plan on moving all the hanging stuff further back and maybe make a bigger transition from the rope to handles, in future attempts.

(0 fails on it in all)

Rock n' Rope: I must cross a rockwall but I'm only allowed to let my feet touch the wall. So I must hang from stuff attached to the wall. First is a rope with knots, next is a hanging munchuck, then a hanging cannonball, then a second nunchuck and finally a rope. On the nunchucks and cannonballs, I must stretch to reach as they're not very big and have little reach.

I almost fell on this near the end but I was able to grab the final rope and make my way to safety.

(0 fails on it in all)

Balance Tube: Like a mini Balance Tank. I have to roll a pipe-type thing across the mat and jump off once I get over it. To start the obstacle, I must climb down a small ramp to initially reach the tube.

I almost slipped on this but escaped it with an early dismount.

(0 fails on it in all)

That's all for now

Now that you've got a mini Ninja Warrior set up, go and get some friends. Winner gets $100 (or $10 if you really don't have enough money) emoticon

By the way, that sounds like you got hurt a lot! You should reconsider this whole thing about risking your life emoticon

If you are really into it, however, here are some less strenuous challenges.

Bar Slide: Grab onto a swing attached to a bar and slide down it. Make a 'lava floor' which cannot be touched during the process.

Upside Down Traverse: Hang your feet from a long bar (or put together 3 short ones), and traverse it. However, you must also lift an excersise ball as you do so, and it cannot touch the ground.

Jungle Fun: Swing from some vines (ropes) and land on a riverbank (ramp). Two friends will be underneath holding up their hands. Jump over them or you are unfortunately eaten by jaguars. Next, climb a tree (pole) and grab a coconut (soccer ball) taped to the tree. Go back to where you started.

Re: Messup's at Home Courses

I would do a competition and I would offer prize money (probaby $10!), but I don't have any friends who'd like to do it and could be at my house at the same time! It is something I've wanted to do though. And when I have a long day off (and maybe a couple more obstacles emoticon) I'm going to make a four-stage Mount Midoriyama to try and conquer.

I'm hoping to get: a hanging pipe, cargo net, mini tramp and a couple other things to make some new obstacle. Buying and building it is more expensive tHan it should be!

And yes I can't say what I'm doing is safe, BUT I don't think it's as dangerous as it might come across either! I do put safety first out there on the course and have practiced falling a lot emoticon. I have mats underneath stuff too.

Those are some good ideas you have there! The only one I couldn't do is the swinging over other people one, because I could easily hit and hurt tbem. Well I couldn't do the tree-climbing bit either but that's because I don't have a pole.emoticon

Thanks for the feedback emoticon
