Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
Wipeout's probably the main reason ANW ever came along, right?

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
Wow, they may have been a victim of their own success with Wipeout then!

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
Forgot to mention that Channel 9 put out promo for AuNW series 2 on the 6th. This series looks a lot better - rail runner, broken pipes, swinging pegboard and wingnuts were just some of the recent ANW obstacles I saw, plus one or two original obstacles including one which looks like the big dipper but has two hoops with bungees attached to them instead of a bar and it also has a bouncing spider style punchbag at the end. They've also moved Mount Midoriyama to the other edge of the set meaning more room for obstacles - always thought it was a bit weird how in series 1 they put Mount Midoriyama in front of the course so you couldn't really see it.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
Sounds good! It's good to see things that I think are underappreciated (Swinging Pegboard, Broken Pipes) getting a chance on a different version. The new Double Dipper variation sounds cool too - glad they have some original ideas this time!
I adore-iyama the change to the mountain's location, too

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
They put out more promo today and it confirmed my fear - the heats are as bad as last year with bridge of blades, double tilt ladder and jump hang all returning so it looks like we'll have to wait until the semis for some decent obstacles.

Re: Australian Ninja Warrior
I honestly prefer the older obstacles a lot of the time. Just because we've seen Jump Hang and Bridge of Blades a lot doesn't mean they're not decent obstacles in their own right!
