I see they don't provide a Ninja tent or Ninja toilet. Just plain old regular equipment. That's a let down.
Who the hell wants to camp out just to watch a show being filmed? This has to be one of the weirdest expectations for an audience ever.

I'm not quite sure who can complain about that? Going to Ninja Island, camping out, watching it live that'd be like a dream night for me (*has angel halo appear over head*)

So this has aired over the last 3 weeks (3 nights a week) and has performed really well for Channel Nine - clear winner in the ratings each night and second series confirmed, though knowing Australian TV they'll make it so overly bloated viewers will soon tire of it.
I don't think the obstacles themselves are much bigger than the UK version (though a bloke who did both claimed they were) but the setting just makes it all seem so much grander. Not seen the finals yet so don't think it's quite on the US scale but they've done a pretty decent job.
And to think TBS tried to sue over Wipeout. For 20 years or so the format hadn't been remade at all - but once Wipeout came and went countries were snapping it up.

I didn't know this had been on.
Just had a look and, yeah, it all seems about the same size as the UK obstacles to me too. Maybe they might seem bigger because they have more room to spread them out a little more. I'm sure the only reason they do it indoors over here is purely to "make it like Gladiators" 
We TBS certainly got their own back in the end with the amount they must be raking in from all these international versions.
