Re: Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge
The second series premieres on June 12th. One of the new hosts was on the Celebrity Ninja tonight. Seemed pretty athletic but the real test will be seeing how he is with commentary.
Gotta say that it can't get much worse in terms of play-by-play, but I'm sad The Rocket can't be sideline reporter anymore - he says he is too. They're obviously going for a similar thing to ANW where it looks all fancy with more famous, polished hosts and such :/.

Re: Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge
If you watch NBC then be on the lookout for the trailer because it looks shockingly different! Obviously they've opted to make a huge revamp which does mean change but it also means the show will kinda lose all the identity it built up in the first season :/.
It looks good though - kind of has the colors of the Energy Coils from Beastmaster if that helps It looks more industrial and possibly indoors..? I hope it isn't the latter as there won't be as much space for a monster course and it'll take away the natural feel of Spartan
Wish the promo was on YouTube!!

Re: Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge
Season 2 began pretty well! Although it's almost a completely different thing now I kinda like the abanndonned factory theme though. I was right that there are less obstacles but I'd say that most are improvements over last year's. The first part with the heavy cylinder and lifting the car with a rope lend themselves really well to a Spartan Race. I also really liked the teeter-totter blocks and ladder climb. They didn't devote half the show to the Slip Wall this time either which was well-received by me. On the subject of where they spent time, they didn't do the relay that qualifies a team to the Finals this week, but showed both heats to get to the Finals, which is much better than skipping a heat (I suppose that either next episode will begin with the final race or they'll save all final races until the end)
They definitely have the Giant Tire Swing at some point so maybe this season will have more variety..

Re: Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge
Completely changing the format might not have worked for them afterall. According to the Television Vulture, the overall viewing is down by one percent and the demo has decreased by 13%.
I don't know all the ratings scales, but I know it means they're doing worse now
