Takeshi Info

Basically a topic to leave any little bits and facts you like. Put facts not easily found (so not something like: Bridge Ball was played 70 times.)!

I'll post one from each version.

TC:

The pilot episode features a mysterious game called Sprinkler Mine Zone and an early version of Rope which seemed to be crossing a cargo net.

TCT:

Skittle #1 has only survived two times. Both were in episode 53.

Come all TC geeks and post your random facts emoticon

I'm not 100% sure but I think that there was an episode before the pilot where Tani & Takeshi switched. Also they played played Slipped Discs in Revenge of The Emerald Guard.

That was the pilot

Strong Kongo and Michiru Jo are the only cast members to appear in all [sign in to see URL] would include the emerald guards too but I'm not 100% sure they always stayed the same (not including Higashi becoming Takeshi's assistant)

I would say no to the Emerald Guards, except for a couple of them, because of the whole "banned from TV" thing that lasted several episodes. Most of them weren't on the show for a while.

Other than that, I think Takeshi's Gundan stayed the same throughout the show's run.

Thanks for adding emoticon

Skipping Stones facts:

In the same tone, Skipping Stones is the only one to appear from episode one through episode 133.

Skipping Stones was also the only game with water in episode one.

Skipping Stones was originally going to be a team-building game using planks to cross.

Skipping Stones had a Knock Knock wall after it in some of its first appearances.

Although in a course Skipping Stones was the only game to appear twice in an episode (Rat Race and Ultimate Show Down in episode 131).

Skipping Stones is the most-played main game.

The list of bowlers who appear in Skittles:

Ritsuko Nakayama
two Emerald Guards
Jo
Animal
Rainbow Warriors

Re: Takeshi Info

Daily Fact:

Although the Takeshi Doll's purpose was to sub for Takeshi while banned, he's been used as Takeshi in some versions around the world or appeared in bits.

Bridge Ball facts:

The bridge got wider through the show.

Bridge Ball originally started out as Rope which were both built to make use of a valley on the set.

Originally contestants did not need to carry a golden ball.

Some early episodes have three to five rocks on the bridge and in one very early episode, the Emerald Guard shake the bridge.

Tani has played and won Bridge Ball by hanging and moving hand over hand.

Honeycomb Maze facts:

This maze evolved from Square Maze.

The Honeycomb Maze was extended and a third guard added.

A viewing platform was added on top of one room where either Jo or a kid would advise the contestant on where to go.

Many early Maze victories featured a contestant either climbing up on top of the maze or swinging to safety on a door.

Dragon Lake facts:

There are six variations on Dragon Lake

1) Straight forward swing a slope on end of landing platform w/ shredded paper.

2) Straight forward off a high platform to a small cylindrical rock landing w/ mud.

3) Straight forward off a dragon (finally!) and onto a small cylindrical flower platform w/ water.

4) Semi-circle swing off long rectangular platform to high cylindrical platform w/ mud.

5) Straight forward swing off a dragon and onto a floating circular mat w/ water.

6) Straight forward swing off high platform to floating, thin cylindrical platform w/ sea water.

Dragon Lake is likely named Dragon Lake because Challenge got it confused with the Japanese name for Skipping Stones "Dragon God Lake".

Dragon Lake was the first main game to ever appear in Japan's Takeshi's Castle.

Yeah - Challenge cut him but he was used. It's a heavy-bottomed ball that they had to roll out the ring.

For time. If they had to cut stuff they took out (what they saw as) the least entertaining bits.
