Re: Video Games It's hardly realistic, nor the most difficult race in the game (depending car you use), but yeah I don't do something like that often and I play quite a lot of driving games.
Now playing Mega/Sega CD version of Wing Commander, my absolute favorite game on PC. The console version is kind of clumsy to play, but has speech. And not bad voice acting (in 90's standards), even if the accents are kind of borderline racist.
Re: Video Games I've been playing PSX horror-adventure Clock Tower (Clock Tower 2 in Japan).
It's a direct sequel to original SNes Clock Tower game which was only published in Japan (except for later PSX remake CT: First Fear). Some ten years ago I played a fan translation and it's real good and atmospheric horror game (plus you don't have many point'n click adventures on SNes - nor PSX). The sequel isn't quite as good, but decent fun.
Also I just started Dragon Warrior (aka Dragon Quest) VII. I've played them one per year since 2011 and was long undecided whether to do seventh, but couldn't help myself.
(So far my favorite was IV, I like games to be episodic like that.)
Re: Video Games I was recently given a copy of Gyromite for the NES which has the Famicom to NES adapter inside, and I've been playing Famicom carts on my NES for the past couple of days (even though I own a Famicom.)
I'm currently cheesing my way through the Japan-only Final Fantasy III using a combination of a walkthrough, Google Translate, and jisho.org for references.

Warning: the final dungeon is absolutely horrible, make sure you grind up plenty of levels before trying. (I'm sure any WT/FAQ has suggestion for suitable number.)
I loved the job system and certain major twist in the game, but it's still the least favorite of the 7 FF games I've played.
Re: Video Games Yeah, I've heard that the final dungeon is brutal. I've owned the game for at least 8 years, ever since I bought a Famicom (it came with it.)
So far, it's not bad, but I'm only in the beginning (beat Jinn.)
Re: Video Games Revving up for the relase of Sonic Mania on Tuesday, the game that appears to have been the result of sticking the Mega Drive Sonics into a blender.
Also started Human Fall Flat, which I bought after it featured in the opening episode of series 2 of Go 8 Bit. The physics puzzles reminded me of Portal, which drew me in. The controls are more set up for this to be played in co-op, making single player maddeningly difficult at times, and the camera can frustrate, but I'm enjoying the overall look and feel, like a platformer made out of Play-Doh.
Re: Video Games Yeah, I'm looking forward to playing Sonic Mania too. Besides that, there are other games I'm thinking about getting:
Tokyo 42 (PS4, 15th August) - Been out on XB1 and PC for a while, it's a isometric shooter with an element of stealth.
Matterfall (PS4, 16th August) - A side-scrolling shooter. Sony's take on Metroid, perhaps?
F1 2017 (PS4/XB1/PC, 25th August) - It'll be interesting to see how this year's cars handle. Classic cars are back in the game for the first time since 2013. Which retro racers am I looking forward to try out? The 1988 and 1998 McLaren cars, of course!
Redout (PS4/XB1, 1st September) - Been out on PC for a while, it's a futuristic racer for those who have enjoyed playing the likes of F-Zero and Wipeout.
Metroid: Samus Returns (3DS, 15th September) - For me, this is the most highly anticipated release of 2017. It's a remake of Metroid 2, which originally came out for the Game Boy back in the early 90's, but Samus Returns seems to be almost like a new game.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War (PS4/XB1/PC, 10th October) - The sequel to Shadow of Mordor.
Gran Turismo Sport (PS4, 18th October) - Don't think I've tried a GT game before, but I could give this new one a go.
Assassin's Creed Origins (PS4/XB1/PC, 27th October) - Hard to believe that 2017 marks a decade since the first game in the series came out.
So, what games are you guys looking forward to playing?
