Re: Cold
Ours is only 45 degrees.
On the subject of hurricanes, the only hurricane I can think of that hit Jacksonville directly was Hurricane Dora, back in 1964. The Beatles played the Gator Bowl the next day (my aunt went to this show) and they had to nail down Ringo's drums so they wouldn't blow away.

Re: Cold
Oh, still it will be refreshingly cold compared to normal Florida weather
Can't say there are many hurricanes I remember, but about Andrew, people tell me that it was super dangerous. I did a project on hurricanes a year or two ago and even though they would not be fun, I still kinda want to experience one.

Re: Cold
BTW: I remember helping out with preparing for a hurricane a few years back. We were stocked with a lot of food in case the storm stayed for a while, but it was a false alarm and the hurricane ended very quickly.

Re: Cold
Just had to look up what high 30s in Fahrenheit was. High 30s to me just sounds so hot, but then that's because I think in Centigrade lol. Fahrenheit is too confusing! So high 30s is just above freezing apparently (seriously, isn't having 0 degrees as freezing easier? ).
It's 7℃ here now - 45℉ - and it feels warm compared to recently

Re: Cold
I don't know why we use it, either. We're between two countries that use the metric system, and here we are using inches, feet, and miles.

Re: Cold
It's all a bit mixed up here. We use centigrade for temperature, measure in centimetres and meters and weigh in grams and kilograms; but then we measure road distances in yards and miles, our height in feet and inches and weigh ourselves in pounds and stones.

That has to be confusing, but I guess you get used to it.

Re: Cold
Haha yeah. I really don't understand why it's like that.

Re: Cold
It's colder tonight than it was last night. 29 degrees Fahrenheit (-1.6 degrees Celsius).
Whoever says it doesn't get cold in Florida is a liar.
