Re: Ninja Warrior UK

I saw a little bit last night. They're still doing it was the regular first stage with some bits added on after the wall. Disappointing.

What was the second course like? It always seems such a waste that they build this whole other course for it to hardly get used. Why they don't make that the actual course used for the final I don't know.

They split it into two parts so they only showed stage 1, stage 2 will be shown in 2 weeks time (coz of the football emoticon ).

I completely agree, I think they should do it like Germany and France and have two stages in the heats so that this part of the course gets used and we have more than just the one course for the whole episode.

Also, I just realised that all 8 of the finishers were from the top 15, so if they had done the usual 15 finalists, as opposed to 30, we would have had an over 50% success rate.

We do something similar to that in America, with Stage Three (we update that a lot even though only 23 people have made it there in six seasons). Guess they want to have a new course for the grand finale!

From what I remember of the spoiler at the end of the show, the stage 2 course looks very similar to last years, with just a couple of new obstacles.

Oh, okay I don't follow NWUK (sorry emoticon ) very much so I was just assuming. Well, if it's not often changed, at least that shows that they're focusing on changing-up the most-used courses the most, right?

Yeah, all the heats were completely different from previous years and the semis and finals had some new obstacles too. I suppose they don't want to change stage 2 and 3 much because we don't see them much and they completely re-did stage 2 for series 3. The only new obstacles I've spotted are I-Beam Gap and Swinging pegboard. I don't know what you're sorry about mind!

I was sorry for talking like I know everything about the show when I've only actually seen half an episode of it three years ago emoticon

And I hate their naming of "I-Beam Gap." It's the Spider Flip (well, slightly different, but still), ANW emoticon

Final Stage 2 obstacles revealed:

1) Spider walk
2) Spinning hoops
3) Salmon ladder
4) Swinging pegboard
5) Wall lift
6) Crazy cliffhanger
7) I-beam gap
8) Flying bar

The only new obstacles this year are swinging pegboard (which is very similar to last year's monkey pegs) and I-beam gap which replaces floating boards. Looking at the course and the competitors I think a final stage attempt is almost certain.

I’ll have to check this out for once seeing as these are all new (on the UK version) to me. A different course AT LAST.

That looks more like a Stage Three to me?

What are the Spinning Hoops? Is it their name for the Spin Cycle? emoticon
