Re: Ninja Warrior UK

On the Text Santa edition of Ninja Warrior UK, for some reason, the presenters referred the obstacle, the "Log Grip" as the "Barrel Rider", yet the graphics still kept the "Log Grip" name.

No, just two short parts with 10 celebs doing the qualifier (not very well).

So it appears theres not alot to be said about the first two episodes of the second series, and that's probably right. For me the qualifier is still killed by having no time limit. and don't get why they've made the Warped Wall higher meaning even more people fail. Would be much better if only those who complete the course in a set time moved on, with perhaps a wildcard round for those who make it to the Warped Wall but fail to complete.

Presentation wise though a far better trio of hosts than Washout. with the contestants being nowhere near as annoying either.

I didn't even watch. I'm not really interested in it. I assume it's going to be the same as last year - exactly the same every episode until the final where they cram different courses into one episode?

Re: Ninja Warrior UK

Each episode course is different which seems unfair, as the contestants have to essentially get past different obstacles to get to the same round.
Too much back-story stuff for people who don't get past the first obstacle.

This would all be possibly forgivable if not for the water torture levels of pain induced by having to listen to Chris Kamara.

Here are some things that make Kamara 'laugh':
1) People having names
2) People standing there
3) People succeeding
4) People failing
5) His own puns
6) Comparing how good he would be
7) Comparing how bad he would be

Usually followed by Ben pretending it was funny too. I mean Jesus-F-Christ does he ever just shut up with that fake laugh?
*says something* yahyahyahyahayahayaha *two more words* yahayahayahayah *pun* yahayhayahayaha

No commentator has ever annoyed me as much as this guy, I am more put off the programme by the sound of him than anything I can actually see.

Totally agree, that 'Kammy' guy is so annoying! (probably more in the first series) The only decent presenter is Rochelle.

I've still not had a look yet. I keep forgetting it's on. By the sounds of it that's a good thing emoticon

Re: Ninja Warrior UK

It's a much better production than Washout (but that's not saying much) but compared to the original or US one it's like a baby course.

The structure this year has been the same as last year, though for the "semi-finals" the timer was only up to the Warped Wall, rather than for the entire run. I still think they should stick strictly to finishers only progressing, with perhaps a second-chance course for those who get "further-fastest", but ultimately they need a much bigger playground to match up to the international versions.

It has been a success for ITV though constantly around the 4-5m mark, something no other weekend entertainment show outside the big hitters has managed in recent years, with a third series filming this summer. Would be good if now ITV know it rates they might invest in a proper course, but I doubt it. Washout got away with repeating so much for so long so Ninja Warrior will be no different.
