Re: Begiragons - Online Japanese Gameshows

Yeah - the hot water episodes aren't as entertaining, but I'd still rather watch those than the disgusting noodle one!

I wonder which game is going to win the vote. I reckon the Train Game has a good chance, probably alongside the Convertable Game and the Vending Macine one actually. I'm predicting they'll be the top three...

Did you watch the Burger Game? It's listed on the Begiragons page but is actually uploaded on Megwin's main channel. That's the one that began it all, and what the Sushi Game was based on. Really funny when they're trying to order, particialy when they get silly and come up with stuff like Six Guys burger, Burger Queen and then the very last one at McDonalds with Falcon emoticon

Re: Begiragons - Online Japanese Gameshows

Congratulations Megwin. I can see why he picked an Australian girl as his wife. I'm still in love with this country and the people there, too. I was a bit surprised that it took him that long to get from Japan to Australia. But seeing that he went to the more rural Western Australia, I can see why he took the Hong Kong route.

And they shouldn't have picked up the kangaroos. They can box just like they do in cartoons!

And I love them speaking in English and that dialect.. I don't know what it is, but have a soft spot for that. I also love hearing broken German. When we had all the Dutch TV people hosting German shows.. emoticon

Regarding the soaking challenge: The clothes washing was really stupid, I don't think it's healthy if that gets into the water and then you'll have to drink it. Chemicals won't even die if you heat the water up (just like germs do). That's nasty.

I guess that Omame will be disqualified in tomorrow's episode. They ended the episode when he went to the toilet, so I guess that he will leave the water for more than 10 seconds. It was just a strange cut.

I was shocked too. 12 and a half hours!? I thought it was just me being dumb at geography. I always assumed Japan was a lot closer to Australia. So it turns out that Japan is slap bang in the middle of the UK and Australia? It takes the same time to fly from here to Japan as it does from Japan to Australia.

I'd like to visit Australia one day. Probably where they film Home and Away because they make it look so nice emoticon

And now it makes sense as to why all the subtitles on Megwin/Begiragons videos are in British(/Australian) English and not American English. Amanda obviously does them!
I can't remember ever watching a subbed video that wasn't written in American English, but in these videos we've had stuff like "favourite" and "knackered" which is kinda a nice change lol!

What happened to the rest of the wedding stuff!? We got part one and two, but that only led up to them getting ready on the morning of the wedding. On Monday we were back to the 'regular' Megwin stuff. Maybe the rest will be this weekend?..

Yeah - drinking that soapy stuff isn't a great idea. Unless they got some kind of safe non-chemically soap. If that even exists.
I wonder if one of them quits or is disqualified it means that the whole game is over for everyone? I don't think they said?

Re: Begiragons - Online Japanese Gameshows

To be honest, I haven't noticed that it wasn't American English. Probably because I had a mixture between American and British English in school and nobody really cared. When I had my first lesssons my teacher explained the differences and he told us that he is supposed to teach us British English (e.g. it's the preferred version), but he can't count the use of American English as a mistake.

And seeing that you know a few American spellings from TV and other sources (color and center instead of colour and centre) it got mixed up since the early days. Same for dance.. nobody said "dans", everybody except for the teacher said "dens". Weird times!

Back to the soaking challenge: It will probably end soon. The judges talked about stopping the Challenge soon after seeing their feets and I guess they got bored of it, too. The videos are getting shorter every day!

Pronounciation of words like "dance" change across the UK depending on regional accents so mostly that doesn't make a difference anyway! It's only stuff like missing the 'u' out of certain words that makes written stuff stand out as American.
Even being British I still find it hard to remember to spell centre '-re' instead of '-er' becuase on the Internet/in html you always see it as '-er', so it gets ingrained in your brain!

I was (pleasantly) surprised to hear them say they're going to have to stop the Soaking Challenge soon. They've not really seemed too bothered about their safety before!
Their feet do look horrible. How they ever expected to leave it until their wrinkles got 1cm deep I don't know emoticon

This is the least enjoyable series they've made. All the others had a proper challenge in them, but this is just sitting still while having to occasionally do something disgusting.
Even the No Sleeping Challenge, which is similar, was much better than this becuase it was a proper challenge. You really wanted Megwin to last as long as he could without falling asleep. There was something that made you urge him on. But with this one I just want them to stop already... Even though I'm still watching emoticon

Yeah, the 1cm rule is really strange. My toes are probably not much thicker than 1cm. I'm about a third into the No Sleeping Challenge and it's definitely more entertaining than the Soaking Challenge. It's definitely missing a real challenge.

You were able to say that nobody really bothered. There weren't any real jokes. People were eating, they didn't care for their zero zero zero and getting more hot water like they used, too.

I don't think they thought about the 1cm wrinkle rule properly! Their skin would probably start falling off before you got a wrinkle that deep. emoticon

At least the waterproof spray today was something a little different. Although why they were spraying already wet clothes I don't know... emoticon
I don't think he should have sprayed it on his hand. That can't be good.

The fish thing today was evil, but funny! It wasn't disgusting like the noodles so it was a good episode... It wasn't nice, but it wasn't something to make you feel sick either!

And now; Megwin TV highlights of last week!:

This 24 Sucks:

I've never watched 24, but I get what it's about so this is funny. Weak Dubbing. Nothing Happens. Irrelevant Cut Scene. emoticon

Wardrobe Transformation:

LOL! Just brilliant.

So they finally decided to stop the Soaking Challenge! Definitely the right decision. Their hands and feet looked awful. So, so white. All the skin must have been dead emoticon
And that was after 33 hours. Only a third of the original target. There's no way they could have stayed 100 hours long without seriously damaging their skin.

Megwin tweeted this photo of his foot. It's emoticon:

Now, should we enter the giveaway? I don't know if I really want a bubblebath maker or ruined Twister mat, but I still might enter for fun emoticon

This week's Megwin TV Highlight of the Week ("yaaaay!"):
Receiving presents the Japanese way, and the "Australian" way:
