Re: Begiragons - Online Japanese Gameshows

Yeah, I guess that they will be forced to quit. I didn't major in the physics of soaking, but I can't imagine that you can stay in the water for 100 hours without getting really deep wrinkles.

But it wouldn't go on for 100 episodes anyway. When I had a look at today's episode I noticed that they skip nine hours at night. But it might still be up to 3 months to get through all episodes, because they have weekly recaps on Saturdays and no uploads on Sunday.

Ah, I didn't notice those 'recap' videos in the schedule. I forgot that nothing way going to happen at night.

It's a funny episode today!

Watched the convenience store game today. It's a bit different from any other game, because there real challenges, but it was still great to watch. It looked like a reupload anyway, Megwin looked a bit younger.

I think I saw that logo before, that antenna-M. I can't remember where, but I'm pretty sure I have seen it before.

Yeah - it's a reupload from Megwin's main channel. It's a year old I think.

I've been watching loads of stuff from his other channel. Some of it's weird, but it's mostly really funny. He's great! It's hard to believe that he's only someone who uploads stuff to his own YouTube channel and not a proper TV star.

They went to America for a few months last year, and all the videos are in - or subbed in - English, so I've been making my way through those.

A tour of their house in LA... And this is Falcon emoticon :

New generation GakiKame Art!!:

Ordering a pizza without speaking:

Another challenge - Bungee jumping without peeing!:
[url][sign in to see URL] - Parts two and three are linked to in it.

Those are just some random ones. There are looooooads. And they're brilliant!

I can hardly find the time to watch all these videos, but thanks for linking to them. I'll try to watch a few at some point.

I don't know Japanese media, but a reason why they don't appear on television could be that they don't get invited. Until a year ago you have hardly seen people from YouTube on TV. If they were on TV then usually to talk about YouTube. It changed a year ago or so when one of our TV companies contracted some YouTube people to push their own YouTube rip-off (well, it's not that much of a rip-off anymore).

That's when the channels from that company started to use their stars on TV more often. Last year for example, one of them moved into the Celebrity Big Brother house. But still, it's only to push their own property, really. They also started a multi-channel network on YouTube, so it's really just pushing their channels.

The only exception is VIVA. They hired a YouTuber to host their weekly chart show every now and then.

Oh you're right, I doubt he's ever been asked to be on TV, but I just meant that his personality and way of hosting these videos makes him seem like a professional TV personality. I was just saying that it's hard to believe that he's not and is just someone who makes videos for YouTube! He SHOULD be on TV, but then seeing as he gets so many viewers on the Internet, and must make quite a bit of money from it, he already has a big audience anyway.

Re: Begiragons - Online Japanese Gameshows

The Soaking Challenge has gotten really disgusting. They occasionally push it, but the last two episodes crossed the line and weren't funny but totally revolting.

I thought Friday's teeth brushing one was bad enough. And I made the mistake of watching it while eating dinner. Not good!
And as a sidenote - all three of them said they hadn't cleaned their teeth already that day!! What the hell!?

But when you thought it couldn't get worse, it did today. Why on earth were they even eating those noodles after being dropped in the water? They've only been going five hours. They can't have been THAT hungry emoticon

I'm not going to stop watching because I've really really enjoyed everything they've done before these past two episodes. I just hope there's not more vile stuff like that. Although I've got a bad feeling that whatever food they get it'll be dropped in the water. I really hope not...

i thought brushing their teeth was still okay-ish.. at least if my interpretation of "water refresh" is right. That's what the schedule says for the end of evening and if they will swap water than it's still okay for me, because they are just sitting in the used water. But it's definitely close to a line that shouldn't be crossed.

But then was really crossed. I didn't like the noodle things either. We've seen in today's episode that they still have noodles in there and there is not really a chance to avoid the water (whereas they could have brushed their teeth without water). Really not cool.

Today's episode wasn't that vile. They got hot water, but Megwin farted.. in a really, really strange way and almost celebrated that. emoticon

Besides that, I finished all Begiragons shows except for the sleeping challenge. After the sushi game I can see the game aspect of the convience store game. They don't eat a lot, so maybe it was indeed challenging.

Today's was much better seeing as they landed on a good one. And the farting bit was funny!
It did make me laugh when Megwin went to the toilet (and they were trying to convince him he had to wee from the doorway) and said "that's unsanitary". And eating noodles from a pool of spitty toothpastey water that three men have been sitting in for hours isn't!? emoticon

They're talking about giving up already, so there's no way it's going to go on for 100 hours!

Ooh, great that you've had time to watch most of the other stuff! The Sleeping Challenge is very similar to this Soaking one - but not disgusting.
What did you think of the Train Game in the end? I voted that my favourite in the poll the other week. I'm not really sure why it was my favourite really. But it was the one I always couldn't wait to see the next episode of. And Megwin put in a hell of a lot of effort and that deserves being recognised!

Yeah, the fart was weird, but funny. It was just gas anyway (well, travelling gas, I guess). I just tried not to spoil it, when I said that Megwin celebrated it.

The episodes when they get hot water are probably the weakest episodes, because they solely depend on the cast doing funny things.

The train game was pretty good. Certainly one of the toughest games so far (along with the naked convertible) and certainly the one with the most variety and so many people that really added something to the show.

I'm not sure if it's my favourite so far. It's either my favourite or my second favourite. The convertitable was tough, too, and it was my first episode ever.
