Begiragons - Online Japanese Gameshows

"BEGIRAGONS make Japanese game shows for the internet!"

I found this YouTube channel a couple of weeks ago and it's brilliant! I can't believe we've never come across it before, or the main star Megwin.

The videos have the same atmosphere and sense of humour as Yaguchi Hitori. There's a huge YH vibe too it. Like Mari used to say, all the YH shows had that "homemade" feeling and they always put their all into everything they did. That's the same as all the series' on this Begiragons channel. The games are exactly the style of game they'd play on YaguchiHitori too - just a bit meaner! They'd never make Mari or Gekidan army crawl between train stations, but they'd certainly make them ride tricycles or try and hitchhike - just like Megwin!
Actually, Megwin IS the Haruki of Begiragons!!

I've watched every series on there over the past couple of weeks. It's already one of my favourite things ever emoticon

It'd say start with any series except the current Sushi Game. This sushi series is based on the Hamburger Game, and also has a lot of jokes relating to their other games, so it's probably not the best one to begin with to totally get it.

The No Sleeping Challenge and Tokyo Train Games are epics. Lots of episodes and tough TOUGH challenges.

The Convinience Store game is the oldest (made before the whole Begiragons channel) and is also the shortest. The Hamburger Game is also older than the channel, but has several laugh out loud moments. Well, they're all brilliantly funny. Every single series. The further you get into the games the funnier they become.

Maybe the 'Naked' Convertible Car game is the best starting point. Only four parts, it shows off their style of games perfectly AND it's very funny.

I love them. They deserve as many views as possible.

I started to watch the first episode of the train game. I don't know why, but after reading No Sleep Challenge and Train Game, I thought the games would be Sports Bakka-like (btw. that show airs in France now on J-One as Challengers on Fire. If anybody knows a way to watch that channel, you certainly know how to contact me emoticon).

But it's not Challenger on Fire. But it's still funny. I will definitely watch more on the channel and subscribed.

Haha, no, not Challenger on Fire. A lot simpler games, on a budget of nothing emoticon That's why I said it had a YH feeling about it.

All the games get better the further along they get. The further into the Train Game I got the more and more I couldn't wait to watch the next episode.

It has also made me really want to make my own show. Not be in it (obviously!) but produce and film it. Like REALLY want to do it... The trouble is I have no friends... So I've failed at the first step!

Yesterday night I was really tired, that's why I just watched the first episode of the train game. And then later on, almost ready to go to bed, I decided to watch the Convertible Car Strip Game and watched and watched. emoticon

That was so incredibly funny. And creative! Really loved the CD turner roulette. Also the little mean tricks and twist like the special hot sunglasses or the apron for shopping.

So if you need somebody to film your own show, I'm friend. I'm totally up for these kind of games.

The Convertible game was brilliant! They're all really funny but that's one of the best emoticon Megwin trapped in all those bags at the end! And when he was trying to stop them talking about going to the toilet in public. LOL! The games are fun but it's their personality and stuff the makes them all the more funny.

I'd really love to film our own show. We can come up with some great ideas too... Trouble is we live just a little a bit too far away from each other! Maybe there's another way to create a show? Hmmmm.

There's a new video up asking viewers to choose their favourite game, and giving you the chance to win the dice used in the Sushi Game! Plus random dancing Megwin.

New series starting next week emoticon

I imagine there'll be more to it than just sitting in a pool for four days!

I catched up with the rules and the first two hours. There is one video per hour (about 4-6 minutes so really easy to follow even if you're a bit busy).

They have a roulette again and need to spin it once a hour. That's where the comedy comes from. That and their quest to get to the toilet without leaving the water.

I like it so far. The length of the videos is perfect, you really get just the fun bits. If it works as an 100 hour series, I don't know. But I'm looking forward to finding out.

Just binge watched the Vending Machine Game, because that seemed to be the shortest after the convertible game. I think out of the three that I have seen so far (this, convertible and soaking challenge), it's the weakest one due to its slow start. But still very funny to watch and really painful towards the end!

The Vending Machine game was the first one I watched, so I didn't have anything to compare it with at the time. It is slow to get started, but I think that at about the time where that backpack gets full is where it starts getting entertaining. It certainly gets better and better the closer to the end they get. Some of the lucky dip challenges were really funny.

The Convenience Store game is the other short one, so you should probably go for that one next.

The way they're uploading the new Soaking Challenge is the same as they did the No Sleep one - condensing each hour into one short daily video. I can't imagine there will be 100 episodes though... That'd mean it will go on until March!

I'm guessing that they will either give up or be forced to quit because they're too cold or too wrinkly!
