Google exists for a reason, but anyway, I'll tell you want Endurance is. It's a series that aired on the channel back in the late 90's, which is based on a cult Japanese show (clips were shown in the ITV series Clive James on Television/Tarrant on TV) in which people have to go through unpleasant experiences and whoever endures for the longest is declared the winner. The UK series was last repeated in 2009 (late at night, I would assume).
Until now, I've always wondered why people kept calling Za Gaman "Endurance." I've seen the show's name "translated" as The Gaman, and thought how do you get Endurance from that?
Now, thanks to jisho.org, I know why. The Japanese word Gaman (我慢) is a term of Zen Buddhist origin that means "enduring the seemingly unbearable with patience and dignity."
TL;DR: Gaman does translate to "endurance."

You should usually get a good translation as long as you stay away from Google Translate

Re: Challenge TV
For two years the thread has been mostly quiet. They have focusing on same few shows The Chase, Pointless and Millionaire that pull in viewers but it has diluted a great channel. They musting losing viewers. If the viewers have gotten bored of the same few shows then Sky need to do something with Challenge, move with the time (going on the tangent with shows that don't have to do with games) or shut it down.

Re: Challenge TV
Couldn't agree more. My opinion has not changed since the last time I talked about it. As I've mentioned before, the lack of variety is what's really hurting it, a channel that I used to love but just don't anymore. Challenge has to evolve in some way, but it seems that Sky simply can't be bothered to do anything.

Re: Challenge TV
Showing the whole revival version of Robot Wars was handy for me. I missed the last series of it. Meanwhile I would have expected Challenge to be making the latest incarnation of Blockbusters. Nope. Comedy Central?! And hosted by Dara O'Briain?! As Tropes would say, What the Hell, Casting Agency? What isn't Dara going to host these days?

Re: Challenge TV
I wasn't expecting to see the revival of Robot Wars air on the channel so soon, actually. Challenge did the previous revival of Blockbusters back in 2012. I feel that Comedy Central is a bit of a odd choice of channel for the upcoming series, as I thought Dave would be more suitable. I don't mind Dara hosting it, to be honest.
Speaking of revivals, isn't Bullseye coming back again? I still remember when Challenge did their own version back in 2006.

Re: Challenge TV
Challenge have asking programme suggestions on Facebook and Twitter. I hope this is the sign of moving away from The Chase/Pointles/Millionaire/Bullseye channel it has been for the last few years.

Re: Challenge TV
Yeah, I've noticed. It's just the same old suggestions by some people, but I'm not gonna lie, there's definitely some shows that haven't been repeated on the channel in years (e.g. You Bet, which last aired in 2011).
Here's my list of suggestions:
The $64,000 Question (last aired in 1999)
All Clued Up (last aired in 2000)
Chain Letters (last aired in 2012)
Concentration (last aired in 1998)
Crosswits (last aired in 2000)
Don't Try This at Home (last aired in 2008)
Gambit (never aired on the channel before)
The Generation Game (would love to see Brucie's series from the 90s, which I'm surprised hasn't ever been aired on the channel, though the Larry Grayson version has, which was last repeated in 2008)
Hive Minds (never aired on the channel before)
It's a Knockout (last aired in 2006)
Lucky Ladders (never aired on the channel before)
The Moment of Truth (last aired in 2009)
Pass the Buck (never aired on the channel before, preferably the BBC series)
Perfection (never aired on the channel before)
Pressure Pad (never aired on the channel before)
The Pyramid Game (the ITV series, which last aired in 1998)
Sale of the Century (the ITV series, which last aired in 2005)
Take It or Leave It (last aired in 2012)
Turnabout (never aired on the channel before)
Two Tribes (never aired on the channel before)

Re: Challenge TV
I've seen that post (and replied), and it's had well over 110 (and counting) replies, the most I've ever seen from any of Challenge's tweets...What are the chances Challenge will listen to ANY of them??!!

Re: Challenge TV
Wow that is a lot of responses ScottGamer17! I think the best option is Takeshi's Castle everyday, every minute on all channels but I am a little biased maybe.
