Re: New Fear Factor
Dana from the first season of Wipeout was on last week's episode. How come that was allowed? Makes you wonder if she applied or if they asked her...
Also they did a stunt in one of the Wipeout pools! There has been a few done on a ranch-looking place actually, so lots of them are probably done around there somewhere.

Re: New Fear Factor
lol watching the first ep of the new series. They keep going on about "don't make the scorpions angry before you eat them" etc but they're clearly dead as they aren't moving. Then they intersperse it with footage of the live scorpions.
Well they look dead for the first team anyways. The other teams the scorpions seem to move a bit more but you can see a shot in the first team where the scorpion is lying still on its side. :/
I never understood the eating stunts anyways and thought they'd bring it back to be less focused on the gross but alas.

Re: New Fear Factor
I think maybe some of the scorpions just drowned when they where in the water. Or maybe got killed by another.
I've really enjoyed the series. I always loved Fear Factor and was really happy that it came back, but it looks like they've gone and got it canceled again
Seems all this stuff about the donkey challenge has made NBC decide not to renew it again. FFS. It was only back for two months and now it's probably gone again.
I can't understand the massive fuss over that cancelled episode anyway. They've eaten testicals numerous times so they've eaten what's inside them.
I love the eating stunts, soz.

Re: New Fear Factor
They ate buffalo penis in one stunt.
Anyway, I've not seen full episodes, but I'm not particularly a fan of how most of the stunts sound like a "best of past stunts from the original series".
Also bringing back the Fear Factor Haircut was always going to happen but I don't like how that was an EXACT replica.

Re: New Fear Factor
Was the haircut an exact replica? I didn't even think that episode had been on yet? I've missed it if it has!
Some stunts are sort of a combination of old ones, but there are quite a few new ones, or old stunts with a new twist. They had the old 'collect flags from a hanging car' in one episode, but this time it was hung from two helicopters and thy swung and tipped it backwards and forwards.
They brought the bee stunt back too, but this time one of the team had to eat live bees while the other person was covered in them No idea how the hell they did that.

Re: New Fear Factor
What's odd is the viewer reaction about the fear factor donkey semen episode being cancelled was mostly negative as people actually wanted to watch it. Well done american networks.
Sadly I think fear factor should be cancelled, or at least in this state.
They brought it back and it hadn't changed at all, in fact it seemed kind of dated. I still think the 4 team format isn't as good as the 6 single person format and the stunts have gone from various phobia related to generic action movie style stunt or "eat-something" stunt.
On a show based around how good the tasks are, if the creativity isn't there then it's not worth watching is it? *creepy stare towards wipeout*

Re: New Fear Factor
It didn't need to change though. There was never anything wrong with it before, it just got axed first time because people stopped watching. This time it's axed because of people complaining about something that isn't even as bad as other eating stunts they've done before.
I don't think there has been anything wrong with the stunts. Certainly far more creativity in them than there has been on Wipeout the past year or so. It 100% deserved another season, but that's not gonna happen now

Hence why it needed to come back and do what it did before but better. But instead it just came back as though it was normal new episodes, with some of the stunts even repeated. That's the opposite of exciting and new.

Re: New Fear Factor
But there's not really any further they could take it. When they tried to go "shocking" they got axed, so they got it right for the majority of the stunts.
It didn't matter that it was the same as before because there was a five year gap between the last series and this one. That's a long enough gap for people who got bored with it back then to have their interest renewed. It worked too.
