Re: Run for Money I keep checking the RFM site to see if there's a new episode anytime soon, as there hasn't been one for aaaages. It didn't say there was. I just Googled it to see if there was any news on a new episode being filmed anywhere and ended up on Twitter with a load of posts about it. Turns out there was a new episode on Sunday! I've gone and ruined the result by accident seeing the screenshots (trying to figure out if it was new or not!). NOW they've updated their site - after it was on. Great promotion this episode got..!
ALSO! An official Chinese Run for Money began last month. Seems to have been a new episode every week. They're all uploaded to YouTube by the channel itself - WITH SUBS!! This makes them the best TV channel in the world.
Here's the first ep:

So this time the missions, and how many they have, is totally up to the players. There's a dice they can roll for the chance at winning one of those net-shooters to stop Hunters, but that's only on one face of the dice. The other five sides have different missions on.
Loved the deaf old man not hearing what they were saying to him
And that of those American captains, one was actually Australian and one sailor was Easter Euorpean or something LOL.
Seems they've given up with the story bits What happened to the teasing that the original Game Master might have some how survived? And the original Hunter being put back together. He appeared in one episode as a helper and that was it.
I've started watching the first Chinese one. It's weird becuase all the sound effects are exactly the same so you keep expecting the regular music to kick in all the time, but it never does! The music they use for Hunter chases isn't dramatic enough.
Re: Run for Money Finished the first ep of Run for Time. I change my opinion - it is just as good as the original! They've got everything right (other than using the music, but that is a movie soundtrack so we can let them off ). Actually the story running through the show was incorporated into the game better than recent RFMs. And they actually bothered with a Game Master story too
They're even making documentaries about the filming of each episode! Here's the first:
Re: Run for Money Ha,mwepl banning stuff like that is fair enough. You're going to get a veeery dull game if everyone hid in ridiculous places. This wall climb was so impressive becuase she wa son the run for a Hunter and somehow managed to dive over the wall and cling on without falling in the water. They didn't even get it on camera so no idea how she did it!
Episode 3 of Run for Time has a funny few minutes in the middle somewhere, that includes chasing a chicken, the fat girl one of the players takes to try on the shoe, and one player not bothering running from a Hunter but trying to be friendly with him instead
It has a mission that's exactly like that bit in Ocarina Time where you hide behind the maze-like walls trying to avoid the guards to get into the castle. They even stop the main game for it because it's such a mission.
Best episode yet!
Re: Run for Money These sound fun, I know what I'm watching over Christmas!
I'm about 6 or so episodes behind with the Japanese RFM too, got some serious catching up to do!
I remember the first ever one, I got it cheap on 2nd hand DVD a while back - I didn't think it was particularly bad, but yeah, no missions, just running from hunters around central Tokyo to gauge the usefulness of the concept before they evolved it . It was really short, if memory serves, and I do remember possibly the main highlight was a guy diving into a massive pile of rubbish bags to avoid a hunter . The hunter just stood there looking a bit confused for a moment and then reached in after him.
I think it was around the time the matrix was out too, since a couple of the contestants kept referring to the hunters as 'agents' . Then you'd hear the announcer guy correct them with a "正しくは,ハンター..."
