Re: Countdown

I always feel really bad the way the audience don't laugh that much at his jokes. Even though I'm sat there laughing to myself! I love it when he does really random stuff too - like the photos from his holidays emoticon "...And this is a bricked up door...

END OF ANECDOTE!

In that case you will love his Bumper Book of Silliness.

I agree with you about the Countdown [sign in to see URL] not just with Tim, they sound pretty bored in any episode I've seen! It reminds me of the stock footage used in Monty Python's Flying Circus with the Women's Institute and their very polite applause.

Re: Countdown

He showed some bits of that book on Countdown last year and, yep, it made me laugh!

You're right about the audience. I guess it's just becuase I like Tim that I feel bad for him. Although these days I wind through every single Dictionary Corner guest. He's the only one I've watched for over a year now! I can get through an episode in 20 minutes.

Re: Countdown

That's better than me, usually not bothering when I'm not fussed on the guest. This latest series has me several weeks behind with the guests I do want to see. Richard Arnold, Gyles Brandredth, Jon Culshaw...

Currently watching Countdown's Challenge debut. Circa 1991, and the 'old folks outing' feel of old is present and correct. 10 years since we lost dear Richard... emoticon

As for the other Richard, no anagrams from Stilgoe in the first ep. That's unusual.

I wonder how many people are already remarking how odd it seems to not have Susie there. This series was a year before she started.

Pencam debuted here! That'll please Tim Vine! Nothing much changes. Struggled with the numbers and the Conundrum stumped everybody. Loved the voiceover afterwards "On Pick we're going to a world where no-one is over the age of 24. It's not Newquay. It's Stargate Atlantis." emoticon

Re: Countdown

I totally forgot about it. Not that I would have watched it at 7pm anyway. Such a stupid time.

I still watch new Countdown everyday as it's the only use my brain gets these days. It's all I can do to stop it shutting off altogether! And I've got a few eights recently, with contestants haven't even got. emoticon I'M GETTING BETTER!!... On rare days. After 26 years. emoticon

Well, I say I watch it every day. When it's not taken off for damn horse racing that is. Which I swear is more often than not these days.

Re: Countdown

Challenge moves their run to 4pm next week. Their tweet summed it up: "We gave it a go at 7pm but as from Monday Countdown will now be at 4pm - a bit like its old slot." I was okay with 7 because all the new runs of the shows are on earlier. Including the now reunited Countdown and Fifteen to One. Yay! While we used to complain every now and then about Countdown being on too early, while Deal or No Deal remained unmoved, now Deal has taken it to the extreme by moving to [sign in to see URL]. Apparently A Place in the Sun is more important at [sign in to see URL] now.
