Re: Wipeout [is officially over]

In case anyone from Germany reads this:

A couple of weeks ago, ProSieben Maxx started to repeat the German version (as in the proper full episodes, not the highlight show that was shown every other year).

It's doing well for them, so they decided to bring the US version to Germany, too. It also got its own subtitle.

It will be shown as "Wipeout - Wet Yourself".

Are they dubbing the Johns or filming inserts with new hosts?

Re: Wipeout [is officially over]

So far they only revealed that two of their WWE commentators will do the commentary on Wipeout.

So I guess we'll get to see the Johns, but they won't dub it, but just talking over them, maybe commenting on them. That seems to be the way to go here in Germany.

Xapatan, Gladiators, It's a Knockout, I think WWE, too: They all had commentators doing their own commentary and sort-of-translating the hosts. E.g. "Now he's joking that...", "and that's just what he's explaining right now.." "He's asking him right now... and he says..."

You can usually still hear the original voice track in the background.

The revived American Gladiators was a bit different, they had two male commentators, but they also sort-of-dubbed all male people on the show (e.g. having proper translations, no "he says" introduction). Plus there was one female person, wo didn't do commentary, just the female voices. That was so weird.

Not sure what they did with American Ninja Warrior.

Ah okay. I suppose it’s to be expected that they’ll go down the cheapest route possible!

This is one of those cringey "family" channels, but I had no idea this was happening:

Looks decent for a fan-event, and a bit more interesting than I thought Wipeout Run itself was!

Guessing it's an unofficial company, but I'm really hoping we get something for Wipeout tenth (TENTH how'd that happen? emoticon ) anniversary.. emoticon

Looks very decent actually - notice Black and Blue branding on the obstacles so wonder if some of the old course testers went on to set this up.

Yep. I feel like I've seen the Pitchfork Tumblers on a course like this one years ago, but I feel like this one is different otherwise. Maybe the Black & Blues have done other things like this and chose to reuse the Pitchforks? emoticon

I saw the Pitchfork too, on Instagram last year. I wondered what it was as it looked just like the originals, turned out it was this!

It’s officially licensed from Endemol by a company in the Netherlands. Seems they change the obstacles too. Pretty impressive (although a shame it’s not set up like a full course).

My favorite obstacle is the "Big Red Balls Wet" emoticon

It does look great though, almost like they could use those things for a cheap remake emoticon
