Modified Plans for New Series

I have some additions and changes I'd lie to make to the topic from last Summer about recreating TC.

First of all, I included way too many games per episode and there are a lot of other tweaks I'd make.

So beginning with episode 1, which would be a Special, but not too crazy of one that it's completely different to what's coming up on the regular program - it has to be a taster. Include some classic games, a couple custom-made or modified ames and one rare Original show game. Great lineup there! Then you wouldn't want to really make them look too flashy like in TCT with all the design and theming. Simply build them in the woods and in a similar style to the original. I'm not a fan of beaches and walking on sand anyway so I hated that emoticon Love jumping in mud though so some woodsy area with dirty water please. K thanks. Back ti the games, introduce a couple new game in the next episode then a new one or two in most of the following episodes. It's fine if they're not all even - the variety and random feeling makes TC what it is IMO. I would never want more than six episode's with no new gamss. They would be distributed in a wise manner so that the aforementioned can be avoided completely.

I would love to film this in the original locationx even if it's where Sasuke is now (I wouldn't mind tearing that down if classic Takeshi could return emoticon). I think it's a strange thing but I quite like the road in the background of the original (I know miamigirl hates it emoticon ). It has something to do with some event to human connection type-feeling and that this is filmed in a pretty basic area - not some really polished posh thing. Basically I appreciate the industrial background emoticon I would also like it to be filmed there simply for the nostalgia. Imagine how cool it's be to see Skipping Stones [sign in to see URL] it's original home and Bridge Ball back to occupying it's little valley. Maybe I'm just too much of a detail-oriented person emoticon. I find stuff like that really cool and like a nice touch to bring back.

This post covers my set and episode-planning, stay tuned for more specifics-based posts and other can't-miss material.

What Games to Use

This the post that will cover my top 20 game choices and also where I'd go from there. Here we gooo!:

1. Show Down (not my favorite, but we need the classic Show Down! Start with water-pistols, then lazer-guns, my paint-balloon version and a new one that I'll cover in a later ideas post).
2. Final Fall (wouldn't be right not to at least start with it)
3. Skipping Stones (finally, a game I really love!)
4. Bridge Ball
5. Honeycomb Maze
6. The Gauntlet
7. Avalanche
8. Mushroom Trip
9. Skittles (well-known group game)
10. High Rollers
11. On Yer Bike (think this game is hugely underrated and another good group game)
12. Sumo Rings
13. Wipe Out
14. Extinction
15. Roller Derby
16. Velcro Fly
17. Tug of War
18. Karaoke
19. Rice Bowl Down Hill
20. Bridge the Gap

I would bring back the majority of the other games (aside from maybe Slipped Disks and Dino Ride) as well. Some could see small updates (always thought it'd be cool having Dragon Lake end on a spinning platform. I would like to create many new games as well. I will give a couple of the best ideas I've heard from people in the post where I talk about the Show Down update

Re: Modified Plans for New Series

So, yes, we would keep pretty much every game from the original. As said, start with lots of classics, a couple rare ones and some rrally basic games for a proper mix.

Now onto custom games, I think the water-pistols could definitely be utilized to make more games. A game I'd really like to see near the end of some episodes (because less people would need to be run through it) is a game where you're riding in a cart (not a Show Down-type cart but one used in mines) that moves mechanically across a track. You have a water-pistol in both hands and your goal is to spray two paper-rings on either side of the cart that move along with it. The cart will not stop unless you break both rings. If you fail to do this, when it reaches the end of the track, it'll tip forward, dropping you into a mud-pit. I'd call this "Stop or Drop".

I would also like to see a course in the shape of a small square that simply consists of platforms that're covered in oil. Starting with the first side, you have to go down a slope, then run across a slanted ramp which connects to the next side. This side begins with a straight platform but this ends and the competitor must jump a couple feet to another platform. They must then jump onto a circular, rounded platform and back onto a straight path. Here they have one more larger jump onto another short straight path. This connects to the third side which begins with a short platform and leads into a step-up to a platform that is two feet higher. This platform continue for awhile until the contestant reaches a wide, cyndrilical beam that they must cross to reach the final side. This side has one Space Hopper to dodge and then a slight incline to climb to get back to the start if the game. This platform is also the goal and signifies that they've won the game. The course can be occasionally varied. Call it "Crude Oil".

Then I'd like to see a couple games that used more advanced mechanics than back in the 80s. How about a giant Treadmill that competitors must run across. While doing so contestants must dodge several foam windmills, each with three blades. There us also a mud-bath/powder shower to be dumped on competitors from above at the end. Maybe make the treadily gradually increase speed to encourage contestants to hurry. Anyway, call it "Tread Mills" (hahaha emoticon ). Next up, "Spin to Win". Throw a ball onto a giant sloped spinner ehich had many prongs on it. There are also many moving parts on this spinner that'll bounce the ball around. There are pairs of flippers scattered around the spinner. The contestants control these flippers (all of them are controlled by the same lever) The goal is to get the ball through [sign in to see URL] four round opening's at the top of the spinner. The competitor may simply try to throw the ball through here, but will likely need lots of good timing and help from the spinner to get the ball into the top. They can keep playing until the ball falls off the spinner and into Doom Lagoon (green water).

I would also like my idea's for Spud Golfing (use a giant putt to roll an empty Spud costume through a golf-course in a certain number of hits. There are five different courses, ranging in difficulty, and which one a competito gets is selected by them pulling a random colored-golf ball from a box, which'll correspond to one of the courses) and Castle Crawl (a Final Fall substitute where the competitor crawls down the center of a slanted rooftop with a paper ring on their helmet. They must cross the roof without falling off or getting their ring shot-out by the guards).

And my Show Down 4.0 is played with water-pistols and foam costumes that hold a lot of water. A contestant and guard stand across from each other on separate platforms. Rather than the usual theme of wanting to shoot your opponent with the water-gun both sides will be doing everything they can to stop the spray (you can't just turn them off!). The point of the game is to fill your costume with a lot of water and squeeze your costume so thatthe water it catchest goes into a container below you. There is a fill-line on this container and whichever person fills their container first winstheir part. To make it tricky, the contestants have a container to fill that requires twice the amount of water than that of the guards. Any competitor who beats a guard to filling there container stays in and the rest are out and winning no prizes. The remaining players (if there are any) will go on to face Takeshi who has a container one-fourth the size of the contestants'. If any of the remaining challengers get's their container filled first, they win. If two people beat Takeshi to filling their container, they will split the grand-prize, but under the normal circumstances, the individual who defeats Takeshi gets the prize to themselves.

Phew! That's it for now.

That's a lot of planning!

If, in some perfect world, TBS brought the show back then it would definitely be filmed in the same place. Sasuke is built and removed for each competition, so it's not there all the time.

Need to keep the place busy as ever! Plus, it might give another future remake some new ideas (for better or worse emoticon).

That'd be nice. Doesn't seem too different and I'm sure something will cause it to return within the next ten years. I see the worldwide interest in TC as a parabola. It started high when the UK version was released, but overtime as the series aged people lost some interest. But with all the remakes and Rebooted, it seems like some of the interest has been restored. I can't say this forum represents that though, as there're not many people interested in the new versions at all emoticon

I'm consistent with my ideas at least, not giving up on Spud Golf or Castle Crawl after two years emoticon

Re: Modified Plans for New Series

Hey, I need a game that's all about me!

Simple, really. There is this fort where the contestant stands on the ground floor and I'm standing in the basement (which is 30 feet from the ground floor). Male contestants will climb up a pole to the second floor, female contestants will run up the stairs to the third floor. At the same time, I will start running up there.

The contestant must grab a water pistol and then proceed to the fourth floor, again the men using a pole and the ladies taking the staircase. The contestant then must break through seven doors (the first two being made of paper, the next three being made of plastic (the plastic-sheet type) and the last two being made of wood.

At the next platform, the contestant must wait until they see the red light (meaning I have just reached the fourth floor). A contestant must shoot the paper ring on my head before I reach him/her, then a male contestant will swing on a rope to the end platform to win, while the ladies will balance on a beam. If they fall here they can climb the slope to get back up.

If I tag the contestant at any point, he/she loses and is out of the game.

EDIT: I realized that the game wouldn't be complete if I didn't have a catch phrase when I emerged from the fort. Maybe something like, "あなたはおいしい一口です。私はあなたを食べたいです。(You're a tasty-looking morsel, I'd like to eat you.)", It'd become a normal thing later on if I am involved in other games as well.

And I've got this other idea. I did my research on past games and there's this one called Die or Pie. This game is similar but less about luck.

The contestant will carry a white banner on his/her back and walk through a simple course, just go forward, jump, then get across four small spinning platforms.

Meanwhile, I will try to throw balloons of red ink (blood) at the banner. If the contestant clears the course without being hit, he/she goes through. However, if he/she falls into the packing peanuts or I mark the banner with the red ink, the contestant loses and is out of the game.

I think this is what the point is - to make a challenge for this game show "Takeshi's Castle", I hope I got this right.

It's not blood but red ink. This is to prevent me from tapping into the supply of red liquid.

I realized that we're not talking about cast members. We'll need at least two strong people. We' may need someone who looks like me (but isn't me) to put contestants off, because I may not be able to control my flesh cravings. I have yet to find the "kill switch", in my brain.

We should also find a way to make a transition between games more interesting. Of course in the original, we have the castle cutscenes but in the edit, they cut all those out, so let's try and find some kind of balance for it.

Finally, if I did find the kill switch in my brain to temporarily deactivate the sensational craving for blood, I'd also throw blood - um, red ink - balloons at the paper ring in a Showdown. Don't underestimate me, I'm actually quite a sharpshooter!

Hello? Anyone going to reply to this topic?

Okay I have an idea. Just put my sister inside the Extinction cage.

~Scene~

Contestant fails Extinction. Guards toss him in. This is where my sister comes in. She will be dressed as another contestant, and will act like one who's trapped. However when an actual contestant comes in, she smells the blood.

Turns around and smiles. Knocks the contestant about before sinking her teeth in. Only for a little while - then she tosses the victim aside, waiting for the next one to come in, and repeat.

I'm worried that wouldn't make it past the televisual regulations.
