I didn't understand why they introduced the Black Tigers than went and Fast Forwarded through them all. And they skipped through all the New Stars in the first stage of 29 too. emoticon

After dragging out stage one of 28 so long they skipped through 29 and now 30 way too fast.

Well, I can confirm that the sequence of top names all at the finish line in 30 was in the original broadcast, I've seen it, so maybe the last 2 tournaments were the same. Don't remember the bit about Ryo Matachi having surgery, though. emoticon 30 was also filmed over two days, so I wonder if that makes a difference. I seem to recall past blog posts by Arsenette complaining about the quality of the edits in the Rising tournaments, and I think 31 was a little bit better, but we'll have to see. In other words, blame TBS. emoticon

So did they fast forward through all these people in the original version too?

Stage 3 was the same. I definitely remember the original footage skipping through people falling at the Crazy Cliffhanger. And that's all, folks. Just 1 ep to finish off 30 today, with an episode of Keshi to fill in the gap in the schedule. I guess we'll be waiting until 32 is in the can before 'Series 7' is produced. Series 5 only had 27 for the sake of catching up with G4, but now that we've overtaken the US for now, who knows?

Can't wait to see 31's cool start line again, with a screen alongside the Sasuke logo, displaying each contestant's name and photo as they stepped up to compete in Stage 1, and a couple of rows of seats in front for all those that advanced to stage 2, who would then watch everyone else's goes from there. Although I did think it pretentious that Drew Drechsel's name was spelt as if it was written in Japanese - Dresshu, or something like that - they never did this alternate spelling thing in the past with any other Americans on the broadcasts, so why?

A series that lasted a week and a half. Seems to silly. Why didn't they have only one episode a day every day? It would have lasted three weeks that way, which is better.

They did a pretty good job after 28 ended - which they stretched out too much. Although they could have had an extra episode for stage one in the other two competitions.

The only thing that was a bit irritating was that no one told Jim how to pronounce "Ryo". Now sure how he managed to read it as "Raw", but there you go. It isn't the easiest name to pronounce for us English-speakers, but there are still better ways of saying it incorrectly than 'raw'!

I just spotted on the Sky+ EPG, when you search for Ninja Warrior, Sky have now split up the tournaments, though only for the showings on Sky 2, rather than Challenge. Each tournament is treated as a separate series, e.g. Tournaments 11 and 12 are on Sky 2 next Saturday in a stack, and the search feature lists them as:

Ninja Warrior S11 ep1
Ninja Warrior S11 ep2
Ninja Warrior S11 ep3
Ninja Warrior S11 ep4
Ninja Warrior S11 ep5
Ninja Warrior S12 ep1
Ninja Warrior S12 ep2

and so on. Nice! emoticon

That's pretty cool. I know they've listed them like that on their internal schedules since they redid them all with Jim, but never publicly before I don't think.

Also a bit awkward how they're trying to pretend that the All Stars are retiring off their own bat, because it's going to look silly with Jim having to say stuff along the lines of 'omgtheyrebackyoucantkeepemdown!' later on, but then that's only if you knew about the crap that went on surrounding this tournament.

I really don't keep up with the news, plus We've seen 3 or 4 tournaments in a row recently that we've never seen before! Most be the very late 20's into 30.
So what is this post referring to? I'd be interested to know!

The producers were retiring the All Stars back in the first Sasuke Rising - whatever competition number that was - but Jim's script said they had chosen to retire. Seeing as they all wanted to come back again they have done in each competition since, so over egging the retirement thing was a bit silly.
